The first time I met Tyler Lucas, I was seventeen. All it took was one summer to fall in love with him...but I fell hard, too hard, and not just for him...

A series of bad choices and actions causes me to leave him and our family behind. I have to find myself once again, and to do that I must dive deep.

At twenty-four, I'm a world-class diver and explorer, one of the best. But when my newest job collides with my past, will we be able to work together, especially with the stakes so high?

Down below, things can easily go wrong, and when they do, we only have two options—work together to survive, or fall apart and die.

While they are stuck in an unexplored/underground cave, with human-eating bat monsters, skeletons everywhere, and little food or chance of survival....

I'm over here mad they didn't have even a single orgy😡

I went into this book expecting a rich, atmospheric plot. But instead got rich, atmospheric cave smut.
And I'm not even a little mad about it.

In a nutshell Diver's heart was a Shakespearean tragedy mixed with horror/thriller and porn.

The premise was eye catching...
The book started out with Peyton Andrews coming back from a dive only to be surprised by her long term boyfriend (Tyler) with a proposal. Peyton instantly panics because she has to refuse the man she loved more than anything, all because of the secret she has been harbouring for years....he isn't the only man she is in love with.

Peyton abandons Tyler and the three men who stole her heart, who coincidentally happen to be Tyler's best friends.

In the three years since she has last seen the boys, she becomes a really successful diver, branding herself as one of the best. Because of that, she gets a job that might as well be the peak of her career. It requires two weeks of exploring underground caves and mapping them out. What she doesn't know is that she isn't the only one who managed to snatch the opportunity of a lifetime.

yes, you guessed it, the four men she has left behind are to be her partners in this exploration. She has to spend two weeks in a sheltered cave, in close proximity with the men she is still very much in love with.

"So a harem it is? Fin laughs. "I like it, Peyton's Harem. We could get shirts with funny names, like captain cock, first cock, second cock."
"Please stop," I grouse.

🛑FROM THIS POINT ON THERE WILL BE SPOILERS🛑

Here's who we're working with:

Tyler (captain cock)
➣ Peyton's ex-boyfriend
➣ The type of character I like to call as "middle-ground". He has no distinguishable quirks except being the logical and collected one. He is just neutral.
➣ Leader of their lil group
➣ Had the hardest time dealing with the harem situation

"I wouldn't want it any other way. I can't think of a better man to protect my-" I suck in a breath as jealousy flares, but I push past it. "Our girl."

Kalen (first cock)
➣ Tyler's brother
➣ The broody, toxic one
➣ Always fights with Peyton
➣ Holds the biggest grudge against her for leaving
➣ He has that air of unattainability that makes him my favourite. Tell my desperate ass to fuck off and I'll just stick like gum to a shoe😇
➣ Has the filthiest mouth.
➣ He likes to insult the heroine while fucking her and honestly... wipe your shoes with me please I don't care.

I've imagined fucking you for seven years. Seven hard, long years, princess, with nothing but my hand to satisfy these urges. So you will shut your goddamn mouth for once and lie back like a good girl and take what I have to offer."

Feminism flies out the window as I beg Kalen to tell me to shut my goddamn mouth again.

"you can't get rid of me that easily, princess." Scooping up my dripping release, I push my finger back inside her. She cries out, writhing as I fuck her with my digits, forcing my cum back inside her before pulling free.

description

Riggs (second cock)
➣ The nerd
➣ Calculates the probability of everything
➣ The nice guy
➣ Angel on the streets, devil in the sheets

Fin (third cock)
➣ Shameless flirt
➣ despite being a flirt he isn't a fuckboy
➣ Peyton's best friend
➣ Yea, that's all, nothing else interesting about him.

I loved the lowkey competition the men were having over Peyton. The suppressed jealousy. I rarely ever see that in RH, since authors try to paint the least toxic environment possible. But this, oh I freaking love this. Four men panting and head over heels in love with one girl, all agreeing to share her but subconsciously try to dominate and mark her as her own.

I'm sorry but that's hot and you can't tell me otherwise.

"I wonder if Tyler fucks you like this...or Kalen. Did they, darling? Did you come all over their fingers for them?"

The problem is the men are all supposedly different characters but they all felt like different variations of each other, especially in sex.

I feel like the heroes all took the same course in ✨how to fuck✨ because every single sex scene was the same with slightly different details.

◉ According to two of the men, her pussy tastes fresh and sweet like the ocean
description

◉ It is literally a crime, a crime how many times the word "cream" was used to describe the heroine's wetness. Spoiler alert, it was every time.

She tastes like the ocean, fresh and so sweet, I can't help but dip my tongue inside, searching for more of her cream.

description

◉ It was mentioned on multiple occasions that Briggs might act like a nerdy virgin, but in reality the man will tear you apart. Peyton was literally warned about his savageness. I must say, I was rubbing my hands in anticipation, just waiting for Riggs to show his true nature and prove to me just how ruthless he is in bed😏

Fuck, you love that. Knowing that after your innocent, friendly cuddles and interactions he fucks himself? Yea, you thought I was going to be the one to wreck your body, but baby, Riggs is going to ruin you. All those years of pent-up desire? He's going to make you feel every second of it, and I will be there to watch you come apart for him, for us, again and again. You have no idea what you have unleashed, Peyton Andrews. You created possessive, lust-filled monsters in all of us."

*reads the scene between Pey and Riggs*
description
Did I just read the exact same sex scene as with the previous two heroes or am I glitching? There was absolutely nothing savage about it. A little rough fuck IS NOT SAVAGE, it's borderline vanilla!!

BUTTT, I guess it's fair to admit that even though the smut gets pretty repetitive the dirty talk was almost enough to make up for it, as evidenced in all the quotes.

◉ Besides the unoriginal smut, they keep referring to each other as family. Which should be cute, but not when they do it after every fucking sentence in this book. We GET IT. The boys are family, Peyton is family, Michael is family, you are family, my grandmother's great aunt is family

WE ARE ALL ONE BIG HAPPY FUCKING FAMILY. How many times are you going to repeat that?

Do you know what the book ended with? Peyton reminding us that they are all a family🙃

I won't even begin to get into the subject of the "APEX PREDATORS"🤪. Get out of here with your quirky bullshit.

Previously I described this book as a Shakespearean tragedy, that's because this is the most dramatic book I've ever read and it had me on a fucking roll.

Peyton is the heroine of this book. And when I say "heroine", I mean bring this woman a cape and some spandex if she doesn't stop sacrificing herself for these men.

this bitch killed herself about a million times during this story, all to save her boyfriends.

I'll admit, I absolutely love when men worry and suffer while their woman is in danger. But the 𝒹𝓇𝒶𝓂𝒶𝓉𝒾𝒸𝓈 whenever they think she died🤣

In any other situation, it probably would've been heartbreaking watching them distraught and crying, but I was fucking dying over here people
description

We all know she ain't dead okay? So their howling had me laughing my ass off. Especially at the end. No seriously, chefs kiss...

The tears?
The pain?
The misery of not knowing?
The grief?
THE COMEDY??

I sob harder as he helps me down, rocking me back and forth as he cries too. Her name is on both of our lips and stamped across our hearts. Our love for her is deeper than any ocean, any cave.
Fin and Riggs keep searching until I hear them start to cry, realising there is no way. Their arms wrap around us, and we huddle together, sniffing, sobbing...broken.

description

I'm just picturing these buff ass, scary motherfuckers crying in a group hug
description

Let them kill us. At least in the next life, I will be with my love again."

Oh look at this Romeo looking ass. William sir, come look at these poets, you'll be proud.

I can't finish this review without mentioning one of the best parts of this book. The atmosphere. It was pretty unique and that was the initial reason I was drawn to it (besides the gorgeous cover).

Obviously, I'm no rock climber or diver so I can't comment on the accuracy of the research put into this book, but by the vivid details and descriptions, I'd say miss Knight did try and put a good amount of effort into the writing. You can tell how passionate the characters are about their job and it was pleasant to read.

If you're an action lover like me then it's your happy day because there was A LOT of it. I mean these guys couldn't catch a fucking break. I was actually getting tired of all the near-death situations, thrill and coincidences. They even encounter a goddamn shark after fighting off actual bat monsters for half of this book. Just what this story was missing, a fucking shark.

BY THE WAY
Remember that orgy I was wishing happened? Well it did, at the very last chapter. By that time I was so unbothered with their fuck fests that I skipped it. I can already tell you what happened without even reading it:

Lot's of cream being licked and released🤢
🡫
They have to tell us that she has a pretty pussy, they can't start before they do.
🡫
Step 1; eat her out,
🡫
Followed by fingering.
🡫
She has to orgasm at least twice before the actual sex happens.
🡫
Then maybe they'll have double penetration & a blowjob, perhaps all at the same time.
🡫
They basically start going off the rails on her.
🡫
Everyone cums at the exact same time:) or close

Update: Okay fine, after I wrote this review I wanted to know how it really went, and guess the fuck what.

'DIVERS HERAT' Is a suspenseful full length romance book by K.A. Knight. Spoken in Multiple POV's.

How is it possible that this author one year later has given me another favourite read! This book was phenomenal, beyond unique, I was utterly captivated, the suspense had my heart rate spiking up, the love these characters felt for each other was felt throughout, I never wanted this adventure to end, and I seriously hope this author takes us on another dive job with these characters because I for one will go along for the ride..

Peyton met Tyler Lucas when she was seventeen years old and he was twenty-four, he fell head over heels in love with her, even to the point of proposing, but there's more to the equation, and she holds a secret dear to her heart and had to walk away not only from him but his close knit band of brothers, Kalen, Riggs, and Fin.

Now at the age of twenty four she's a world class diver and explorer she's been asked to join an experienced team and explore the unknown off the coast of South America. It's here where she comes face to face with them all again.

173193492-825139311684702-8009239134459557089-n

They dived the unknown
Trapped with endless tunnels blocking their way to freedom
Something was down there with them...

This was a heart stopping kind of read...
This book had it all.

It was hot, it was dark, it was suspenseful, it was so damn good!!

Diver’s heart is a masterpiece. First, K.A. Knight pulled at my heartstrings; then, she created a very vivid world that took us on a fantastic adventure. Once you start reading, you're not going to want to put the book down. We learn so much about diving in this book you can picture yourself with them. K.A. Knight did her extensive research, and it shows. Diver’s Heart is now my favorite book from the author.

My suggestion is to go in blind. I know I suggest this a lot. There is a method behind this. You will have a much better experience with this book.

Peyton is a take-no bull, strong, intelligent, bold, and experienced diver. Plus, she is fighting darkness and guilt of breaking the four men who she loved and left. I love her. First, I wanted to wring her neck for the pain she caused for herself and them. Then I understood the why.

All four Men, Tyler, Kalen, Fin, and Riggs, bring their own skillsets to the dive team. All still heartbroken and dealing with it in their own way. Tyler and his brother Kalen who hurt the most, are broody and hardened. Less forgiving while Finn and Riggs are more forgiving and love equally. Side note Fin is my favorite. He is absolutely hilarious.

I fell down the abyss with these charters and was ready to drown with them. The plot is well developed. The steam and sexual chemistry are out of this world. Have an extra set of knickers on hand; you will need them. Diver’s Heart has several tropes, enemies to lovers, reverse harem, and second chance. I am not a big fan of second chance. What I liked was K.A. Knight pulled me and gave me a love of a second chance romance. If you are looking to take a plunge into the next adventure, Diver’s heart is a must-read.

This was a bit disappointing. I wasn't a big fan of this author's writing and I struggled to connect with any of the heroes. I can see now why reverse harem books need to be long or in a series because it really does take time to develop 3+ main characters and their relationships with the heroine. This one got to cheat because everyone already knew each other previously and were all basically in love with each other from the get-go.

So Peyton left her ex when he proposed because she was in love with not just him, but also his 3 brothers/best friends (who also loved her back). Years later they reunite during a dive they've been hired to do and all 4 men are not happy to see her, least of all her ex. I was interested in the diving aspect of the story and things got exciting when it became more of a survival romance once they got trapped down in the cave, but the diving technicalities got boring to read. And the sex was... cheesy? Bland? 3 of the 4 guys literally had the same moves and there was no variety 😂 And unfortunately they also felt interchangeable. I could never tell who was narrating which chapter.

And the writing.... it was sooo repetitive. I can't tell you how many times this author used the phrase "apex predators" that it became meaningless. And everyone is always yelling for some reason? And snarling. So now I'm a bit scared to try her other books (well, just Den of Vipers) because the writing was not it.

I swear to the book gods, if I read the words APEX PREDATORS one more time it will be too soon. I am dying over here, really. I do not DNF any book, ever, but this one I struggled through so hard. I cannot stop laughing at how ridiculously cheesy this book is or how unrealistic so much of it is. My hubs and I started taking shots when they said "Always have, always will" "Not now, not ever" and "Apex Predators" including the many variations ex. We are apex predators, apex predators, bitch, apex predators all day, baby.... you understand by now... but I could go on.

Don't get me wrong, I like the story line and concept but the writing is lazy and repetitive. SO REPETITIVE.

All of the men have sex the same. They eat the pussy, finger it, start sex on top and end with her on her knees from behind. Yep. Every scene. Maybe it gets changed up to where she is against a wall then turned around instead of the floor but nonetheless, it is the same sex scene written for each man.

Examples you ask? By all means...

They all:::

Nearly cross their eyes, Flip her to her hands and knees, say she tastes like the ocean, say she gasps against their lips so many times I could shrivel and die. Her hands apparently love to claw at the floor/wall.... They all pinch her clit, flick her clit, slap her labia, "ram/slam in, in one smooth thrust", "Want to taste her with their mouths".... and the best one... fight through her channel.

WHAT IS FIGHTING THROUGH HER CHANNEL??? What is it? And how is she not in pain? Does she have some kind of medical condition? Does she dry up so it is hard for them to slide in? I literally have a medical condition that make my muscles compact and "tight" down there. My doctor has to use the SMALLEST speculum on me... and no one fights to get in me unless I am NOT INTO IT.

Surprise, your vag is designed to expand and elongate when aroused. Plus you release natural lube. Since she is always said to have "dripping cream" (which makes me worry about another medical condition the number of times this is referenced) why exactly are they fighting to get inside of her? I am legitimately worried.

I love RH, I love smut... what I don't like is lazy, repetitive smut. If you took out a sex scene and asked me who it was she was having sex with at the time, the only one I would know for sure was the bathroom scene at the end. All the others I have no idea because none of the men have their own quirks or personality when it comes to how they are in the sack.

My other issues would be:

The characters lack depth.

I didn't cry in the places I normally would in books. I am a sucker for injuries, deaths, loss... I bawl. Yet this book elicited nothing but laughs from me.

Peyton is supposed to be this wonderful badass but as soon as life isn't the norm she just turns into a oddly horny human in the face of death. Which freaks me out, personally. I know everyone has their own ways of coping but literally one of the guys is DYING and she is thinking about how she is sad that she can't fuck him, but now isn't the time.

I'm sorry.... WHAT?

Ugh. I could go on, but I won't. It was okay until it wasn't.

I love reverse harem but not where so much jealousy between the guys. This book is about Peyton who leaves her boyfriend Tyler after he proposes her, not only she breaks his heart but also her 3 bffs Riggs, Fin and Kalen who were in love with her. Then years later she gets an assignment for some diving thing and her partners are these 4 dudes, but this time they hate her. Ok so i really liked the plot, the water and diving thing, and the second chance aspect of the book cuz these things are not usually in rh books. It was different but the whole reverse harem thing seemed forced because Kalen seemed like the main hero. The 4 of the dudes loved Peyton a lot but it didnt feel like Peyton loved them. Her focus was only on Kalen the whole book, her relationship with Riggs and Finn was forced Af and they were barely in the book cuz the book itself also focussed on Kalen and Peyton. Tyler seemed more like a villain than the hero who was trying to keep the heroine away from her lover ...Kalen. Towards the end they agree to share her but there was a lot of jealousy between the guys and not to mention unsanitary sex. They start fucking anywhere even in the middle of dying. Riggs and Finn loved Peyton a lot but from her side there wasnt any love for them, and like barely lust. Tyler was ok i guess, it was like Peyton had to tolerate him or smtg. She was more focused on Kalen and impressing him. It didnt feel like a reverse harem. I did want to like it cuz of the whole second chance and diving thing but there again, there was no emotions from her towards the other guys except Kalen, and whatever there was from her for the other 3 was forced af. Her being with Tyler was more like a guilt she felt for betraying him which is why she had to date him as well.

For about 80% of this book, this was a four star read. While the writing and phrases were definitely repetitive (certain phrases were used word-for-word multiple times), I thought this was a fun reverse harem that definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved the diving setting and how they were exploring this cave after Peyton walked away from the guys three years ago and completely shattered their hearts. Now, they are all so different and tensions are high between them and Peyton as they are forced to work a job together. I loved how they could admit Peyton was the best diver on the team and didn't underestimate her abilities to explore the cave and go into dangerous situations. While it did get quite not realistic while diving and how they would just go at it after a near death experience on the side of a cave wall, it was fun. But the last 20% was so boring and dragged and ruined the fun romance for me. There just wasn't enough development with each guy to make me believe she truly loved them all and they could make it work. And the guys were definitely jealous of each other, so I'm not sure I could see this reverse harem actually lasting long. I really enjoyed my time reading this book, but it fizzled out by the end and I was just ready for the story to be over.

All I can say is this book is literally incredible.

This has one of the most interesting plots I have ever read and I loved each and every character. It is also an emotional rollercoaster so be prepared for that, but this is instantly becoming one of my top reads of 2021. Tyler is the "main guy" and I liked him but he was just a normal dude honestly. Riggs is the softie and the quiet one, but you know what they say about the quiet ones (; Fin was freaking hilarious and made every bad situation a better one. Finally, saving the best for last..Kalen the man I am 100% in love with and just a dominant asshole. Peyton is such a strong heroine and a fucking badass.

I loved how this ended up turning into a thriller and I literally was just kept on my toes 80% of the time. Highly recommend if you're looking for something different because this plot is just it!

I’m good lol. The setting and plot very unique. The actually h and H’s? Not so much 🤣. The guys were meh 😕 She would have normally been meh too but she was a badass and kept saving everyone all the time. So I can’t say she was boring. This is my first reverse harem, not sure if that’s why I’m not really a fan 🤔
I definitely skipped around a lot towards the last 25% so I could get to the last couple of chapters

2.5/5 ⭐️ This was...rough...for me to finish (hence the 4 day read)

The idea of the plot was amazing. It fell through in the lack of character building and the lack of detail description in the world and environment. I feel like the author had such a great premise for this book but it fell flat in regards to execution. The book surrounds the divers going into tropical cave systems and exploring. An adventure ensues with twists and turns meant to leave you in suspense. I struggled to envision these cave systems because there was such a lack of descriptors. But honestly most people are probably reading this book because it’s a reverse harem so I understand that maybe I just struggle more with more smut focused books without good plot/characterization.

All in all I did finish it because I hate DNFing a book but I will say the action and suspense of it, while still relatively mild, did make me curious enough to wanna finish it and there were some good spicy scenes.... several spicy scenes. The only thing that just bothered me —I felt like the character building was just OK, the premise behind the story was a really great idea but I am the type of reader that needs to visualize as I read even just in a blurred way and I could not at all visualize what I was reading.

Also to mention that I felt like there were several parts throughout the story where I was immediately pulled out of the world and into my own head thinking “this is so unrealistic”. It felt like there were things that were happening that were improbable not from a “other worldly” perspective but just from the way that it was described. e.g. hopping from one thing to the next without a transition or some thing that they did that didn’t seem real; maybe because there wasn’t enough describing detail to make it believable or because it was in and of itself just not plausible within the story.

But in regards to the RH - since this was my first “official” RH, that part I surprisingly didn’t hate. The spice was there but it wasn’t crazy original nor was it unique - quite repetitive actually.

I’m not gonna give any spoilers but the ending was just predictable it wasn’t bad it wasn’t sickly sweet and amazing it was just stereotypically done. Again, maybe if I was more invested throughout the book I would have been happier at the end.

All in all:

Plot: 3.5/5 ⭐️
Characters: 1.5/5 ⭐️
World building: 1.5/5 ⭐️
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶 (based more on amount than quality)
Ending: 2/5 ⭐️

Review:
This book was so fast paced, it cut right to it. I read this for pure enjoyment, so don’t take anything I’m saying seriously.

One thing I have to say is that I predicted a group bang when I got to the third chapter. I was right👀.

Some thoughts/comments the main characters made were just… yeah

This was the epitome of hate and love is the same emotion.

OKAY WE GET IT: “always has been, always will be”.

Another quote I that was just SO inspiring was: “ Movement is life” so motivational, I feel more empowered already😻🤝.

I have so many feelings about this book and unfortunately they aren’t all good. I gave it a 2 star rating because I liked the premise and up to a certain point, I was really enjoying it...so what went wrong?

One of my biggest issues was the Reverse Harem element. When I’m reading an RH romance, it’s very important for me that they feel like one cohesive group, particularly during intimate moments; the guys must get on with each other as well as they do with the heroine. While they guys had a great friendship, I felt like there was far too much jealousy between them for this type of relationship to be believable. They didn’t even all have sex together until right at the very end - and even then only 3 of the guys participated. To me, it felt like she was just in love with 4 separate guys and didn’t want to choose between them; although, there was an absolute clear favourite in my eyes - and in a reverse harm she should love them all equally.

My next issue was the repetitiveness- sex scene were recycled over and over again; phrases were used multiple times throughout the book - it got to the point where I started skimming the sex parts because it was a case of wash, rinse then repeat; there was nothing different or exciting about it.

So many parts of the story were just too far-fetched for me - I had no idea this was going to turn into a horror story and honestly, it ruined the whole experience. I had such high hopes because of the diving storyline; I’ve never read anything like it before so really was expecting something completely different, but it just turned out to be totally bizarre.

There was no back-story, apart from a very short introduction. We just had to take the authors word for it that Peyton had developed strong feelings for all these guys in the past. With no flashbacks or real character development, I found it a bit of a struggle to really believe the whole thing.

I wish I had loved this one more but there was just far too much going on for me to enjoy it. I feel like it would’ve worked better to just have it as a M/F story because the RH aspect didn’t really work.

Wow okay. This was so different from Den of Vipers and also amazing ?? I’ve never read anything like this. A thriller/horror reverse harem filled with angst and devotion and love. I was not expecting this much from this book, i actually cried multiple times reading this.

KA knight did a fantastic job setting up the angsty background for this story without making us sit through chapters of set up. In the first chapter, we learn about Peyton and Tyler. Peyton has been in love and dating Tyler since they were teenagers when they met diving. She was happy with Tyler, but she felt extremely guilty because Peyton was also in love with Tyler’s brother, Kalen, and his best friends Riggs and Fin. So when Tyler proposes- she runs away and rejects him with no explanation. Owh, right? Three years later, she is hired to work a job with none other than the men she still aches for. They do a diving job where they explore underground caves that have yet to be explored, meaning they will be in forced proximity isolated from the world down in this cave system. ANGST CITY am i right???

This was more than just a RH romance, the exploration of the cave system actually lead to a thriller/horror vibe and i was on the edge of my seat reading this book whether it was because of the insane spice or the insane plot.

These men invented dirty talk. When I wasn’t crying over the struggles or anxious over the characters survival, I was absolutely blushing and swooning over the spice. These men had me panting - and the development was realistic?? Often times RH’s feel not possible or unrealistic but the struggle to finally accept what these 5 needed to do to be happy, and the jealousy they struggle with was interesting and made it feel more real.

So ya, read this. Even if you hated DOV because this is so different.

I’d like to start this off by saying I feel like no review of mine can do this book justice.

Saying that, this book took me on a rollercoaster. KA Knight is seriously one of my top five authors. Ever since I read Den of Vipers, which I feel is what most people now know her for, I have loved her. And this book, my god, this book.

I cried, I laughed, I loved, and I was even effing terrified. The emotions she was able to cram into this book were insane.

It follows Peyton, a cave diver who maps never before explored caves, and her struggle to survive the men she loves and the cave she’s now exploring.

Each character is so uniquely themselves. Peyton is strong, a warrior, she doesn’t give up. She hates being alone but she’s independent when she needs to be. Good lord is this woman STRONG.

And the men? Hot. Please. So freaking hot. And each so unique to themselves. Kalen is my favorite though ✋🏻😌 I have a thing for damaged goods.

Anyway, please give this book a read. It’s in my top five books I’ve read this year. And Katie if you read this, I’m so mad at you for the thing that broke my heart in this book. So so mad at you 😂

When i signed up for Diver's Heart i didn't even read the blurb: knowing it was K.A Knight' book was enough for me.
I knew it would have been good but i didn't know it would have been so damn amazing 😍
I didn't expect the turn the story took: it shocked me, intrigued me and hocked me to its pages to the point it was all i could think about....

Diver's Heart is a second chance reverse harem romance.
Like many second chance romance it's emotional: you can feel the rage, the regret, the hurt, the loneliness, of each characters.
I'm not ashamed to tell you i found myself with watery eyes more than one time...
The reverse harem part make it steamier ( damn if she knows how to write hot scene that make you burn from inside out 😂🔥🔥🔥) but it's not just about the physical relationship. It's about a deep bond within 5 person who share a love that's not conventional but so right for them.
It's about family...
And then there's something you never think you could have found in a story like this: a rush of adrenaline, a struggle for survival, a lot of action that keep you on the edge waiting for something to happen.

I don't wanna give you details about the story per se because, trust me, the surprise gonna make it even better.
But let me say that K.A Knight amazed me once again with her ability to create such vivid world, to manage 5 different characters, aside of the secondary ones, to make me fall in love with them all, and to make me live the story like i was with them all the time sharing their feelings.
Definitely a Must Read!!

Was excited to start this as it sounded so different to other reverse harem I had read. While that was true, the writing really let this down. There was so much repetition in this that it felt like I was reading the same thing over and over. If the guys parts weren’t named I honestly wouldn’t know who’s POV it was because everyone felt mostly the same.
It also felt so unrealistic and kinder played out like a bad horror/thriller movie.
I didn’t struggle to get through it which was a plus, and I think what saved me hating it and DNFing it was the unknown aspect of what could happen.

I’m sorry I just can’t. I don’t want to give spoilers! But the “conflict” and reason for “suspense” is just way too wonky. The writing isn’t great and the smut scenes were cringey.

I was truly not expecting this to be as eerie and unsettling as it was. This book follows Peyton, a renowned diver, and her four former best friends as they reunite to take on one of their most dangerous cave dives yet. TBH at times I like did not care about the romance because I was SO INVESTED in the cave diving part of the story. Don't go in expecting just a spicy RH, there's so much more underneath the surface (see what I did there). Minus 1 star for the repeating use of "cream"

Ty- Mr Bossman
The leader, the one who has to remain strong for the others. He’s jealous by nature and controlling as hell but someone has to be in a tight knit family that they have formed. He’s caught between wanting to hating Peyton and love her all at the same time.

Kalen- Mr Asshole
He seems to be the 2nd in command behind his brother who is driven by loyalty and family. He’s constantly fighting a battle between loving his brother and feeling guilty for loving his brothers girl all while wanting to keep them both.

Fin- Mr flirt & romantic
He always finds ways to make the group smile, always trying to lighten the mood. He has an addictive personality that you can’t help but be drawn to. He’s also an adrenaline junkie and the one who takes the most risk.

Riggs Mr softie & my undercover freak
He’s the most understanding and affectionate one out of the group & probably the one who is the glue. He’s always the sweetheart, kind, loving, smart and sexy as hell.

This book does such a good job at setting the vibe and atmosphere in the caves. It feels sexy, dark, suspenseful and fun. While reading it I find myself continuously on edge and even a bit aroused just by the environment in the cave alone. There is so much angst and some much tension between all of them it’s almost suffocating. What I’ve noticed is that all of the boys are feeling guilty about being in love with her bc they all feel she should only be with Tyler. She’s also harboring guilty behind it & labeling herself as greedy. I must say I have never seen that with a RH book. Normally either all of the men are on board with sharing or the FMC is okay with exploring her feelings with all of them. All of them feeling guilt is kind of exciting to see how it all turns out.

Halfway through This fucking book blew my goddamn mind okay!!! The suspense had me on the edge of having a heart attack. One minute I was hot and bothered with all the steam. The next minute I was heartbroken because of all the pain they experienced it was so fucking much to handle. I honestly think this is one of the strangest and most fulfilling books I’ve read in a while. Towards the end I was just praying to GOD they all made it out alive and has the best sex of their lives bc honestly? What else can dull the pain and trauma of what happened in those caves.

This book has everything to keep you on the edge of your seat.
1. Deep sea diving
2. Exploring hidden caves
3. Discovering weird scary mutant species
4. Second-chance romance (one of my favourites)
5. Life/death situations (I weirdly enjoyed that anticipation of not knowing if shit actually happened)

I read this book after seeing a booktok where a girl mentioned how this book was better than Den of Vipers. I went in blind but let me just say that it's weird when people compare books of different genres. Like I get DOV and Diver's Heart are both Romances and Reverse Harems but DOV was more mafia-ishhh and unreal.

The story is about Peyton who has been in a relationship with Tyler ever since he dropped in on her dad's boat. He became her dad's apprentice where he learnt everything to do with diving and exploring. Tyler took her with him once he was ready to go exploring with his brother, Kalen and friends, Riggs and Fin. Peyton and Tyler are very much in love but after spending 4 years exploring and deep sea diving with the guys, she realises that she's in love with all 4 of them. After Tyler proposes to her, she decides to break it off with him and cuts all contact with no explanation as she feels disgusted with herself for being in love with all 4 men, as well as wanting to avoid any conflict between the guys. Three years later, she has rebuilt her life and is considered one of the best divers. She is asked to join another crew that's exploring a recently discovered underground cave. To her surprise, she finds out that the other crew is Tyler and the guys. After being hostile towards each other, they partner up and continue their journey. During their attempt to understand the past and their existing present, a dangerous presence lurks around them, thus making it seem almost impossible for them to find a future together.

I've only read DOV by Knight and damn, this is DEFINITELY NO DOV. Don't go in expecting similar DOV scenarios. This book is a different kind of good!

DIVER'S HEART ❤ BY: K.A. KNIGHT

This book was the adventure I didn't know I needed. You never knew what was coming, I felt panicked, emotional and scared 😱. I have never read a book that had to do with diving before and I think now I might be addicted. The scenery, the vibes, the mystery and the trill of being in those caves were amazing. I was addicted to the plot, inlove with the characters and the hot smut was just a bonus!! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough and I finished it in one night. I will say I didn't expect to shed a few tears, but I felt so connected with characters. I don't want to give to much away because I went in blind and had the best time. K.A. knight continues to Suprise me over and over!! I will probly read anything she writes now. Top shelf book❤❤

🎶 Come on, come on, don't leave me like this.I thought I had you figured out. Can't breathe whenever you're gone. Can't turn back now, I'm haunted 🎶

Peyton Andrews (h) once left behind her boyfriend, her bf’s brother, and two best friends because she loved them all and knew it was impossible to have them all. When she ran off and left them, she broke all of their hearts, so now they hate her. Now that she’s got a job and has to join a team on a dive, she doesn’t expect it to be Tyler, Kalen, Riggs, and Fin, (H) the ones whose hearts she broke. Still, they must rely on each other to make it out of the dive successfully.

─── ・ 。゚☆: THOUGHTS*.☽ .*:☆゚. ───

🎶“ Because the last time you saw me. Is still burned in the back of your mind. You gave me roses and I left them there to die”🎶

[Tyler]

“Fine,” Tyler snaps. “But if you’re here to work, you will dive and do your part, nothing more. I will expect no drama or complaints on this.”

“Not a problem, same goes for you. I’m not your employee, I’m here on behalf of my friend to ensure this runs smoothly. I’m joint lead. Do your job, and we’ll have no issues.”

I love how fierce she is and how often she stands up for herself. She recognized that she hurt them by leaving, but that didn't allow them to treat her horribly. I'm obsessed with the fact she stood her ground and told them she should be treated with respect and acted professionally. She's a total girl boss, and I love love love her. I hate doormat characters, and she's the opposite of that. It didn't matter what she felt for them and how she hurt them by leaving; she wouldn't have them walking all over her. It was realizing that they didn't trust or want her in their life anymore, but that wasn't free game for them to belittle her for doing her job. It's so rare to see an FMC who stands up for herself just because she wants the MMC's forgiveness, and Peyton never begged. If they were going to insult her, she would insult them right back. I was cheering her on the entire time; she's what I would want to be. She's so fearless, loyal, and has so much love to give. She left because she had so much love to give and didn't know if Tyler, her only boyfriend at the time, would understand. She did what she needed to do, and I respect that. They found each other again either way. It was also realistic because they could have died, and all they had was each other. Despite being hurt by the past, it was better to rely on each other as emotional support in times of danger than possibly die without closure. All of them were prideful but knew when to step back and be apologetic.

🎶” You say, "I don't understand, " and I say, "I know you don't. We thought a cure would come through in time, now, I fear it won't” 🎶

“Don’t stand there and say you left because you loved me! You left because you were scared, too fucking scared, so you ran, and now you feel bad. Well, don’t. It’s over. It’s done.”

Tyler had a reason to be hurt. It doesn’t excuse how harsh she was towards her, but understandably, he loved her and proposed, and she literally ran. I’m not blaming Peyton either; I also run from things when they get hard —guilty. In that sense, I understood where she was coming from, and while she thought she was doing it to protect them, it hurt them all more instead. However, she suffered a lot in their time apart. The others had each other, but she was all alone until Michael.

🎶 ”And if I'm dead to you, why are you at the wake? Cursing my name, wishing I stayed” 🎶

“I can’t believe you still wear your bracelets.”

“Of course I do. Even when I hated you, I still loved you,” he murmurs against my pulse. “I’ll always love you. I wore them to carry a piece of you with me at all times, so we could explore the world together like we always promised.”

It makes sense that he held on to the bracelets and the engagement ring because he never let her go. As much as he wanted to hate her, which he did, he loved her more. I think he hated her because he still loved her and her hold on him. The moment she returned, he was hooked again, and he was too scared that she would talk away again even to let her in. There was a lot of tension in the book and moments of anger, but the fact that he almost lost her was the motivator to end all the miscommunication and just be together. Yes, he was still angry, and that wouldn’t change, but they would get through it with time. I’m unsure if he would ever be okay with sharing, but he wants a part of her rather than having nothing at all. He compromised, and I think he values her in his life because he knows how much she means to others, too.

[Kalen]

“No. Fuck that, you don’t get to pull this shit again. I don’t care if it fucking hurts or if it’s hard. You don’t get to hide because of that. Fucking fight,” I demand.

“Shut the fuck up!” she yells.

“Make me, Andrews,” I growl. “Because right now, I don’t think you can. You’re not the woman I love. You’re nothing but an empty shell hurting those you love most again.”

I GASPED. When she was mourning and it got too much to process, she distanced herself again — Kalen helped her so much. He was forward and aggressive about it, but he wanted her to feel. Even if it was anger, it was better than her not feeling at all. All the men were different with her, but each one had a different purpose to the relationship and added something special. Kalen did something the others were too scared to do, but Peyton could handle it, and he knew that. She's not soft for it all; the girl has a backbone and can handle more than many people can. Kalen wanted her to know that she wasn't alone and didn't have to deal with it all alone because she had them. He could tell she was giving up on life, and Kalen was the fierce man she needed. It was difficult for him to be that harsh towards he and would falter, but he knew he was the only one who could bring her back from the brink. Even in the cave, when he claimed to hate her, he just hated Peyton's hold on him. He used hatred as his fuel because that is his connection with her, but it's blazing love. His love for her is evident and LOUD; he will make it known, and I love him for that. He doesn't care what it takes; he does everything to protect his family, including her again, even when he is angry.

🎶 “And you can aim for my heart, go for blood. But you would still miss me in your bones”🎶

“I don’t want you here, none of us want you here, so get that through your selfish skull, Andrews. We aren’t going to be friends, or family, or even get along. So keep your mouth shut for once and just do your job,” I growl out and step back.”

KALEN. This man is her first love’s brother; these two have insane chemistry. The tension, even when they thought Tyler disapproved, and they still longed for each other. The kiss they shared three years ago, and he was upset that she regretted what they shared. He felt abandoned by her, so he acted like he despised her, but he just wanted to kiss her 💋.🎶 All of this silence, patience, pining, and anticipation. My hands are shaking from holding back from you. 🎶 THEM THEM. These two were evenly matched and understood each other more than the others. They spent a lot of time together in the cave because they were both the best qualified and skilled and got trapped in the circumstances together. They saved each other; she risked his life for him. I’ll think of him as the man in distress. Peyton always came to the rescue, and even when she thought he hated her, she was willing to die for him. No hesitation at all. It took a while for the banter and small talk to come back, but once they got trapped and thought they were dying, they talked about the past. It was necessary and moved things forward between them; meanwhile, Riggs watched them have sex on the camera, and these two didn’t realize 😗. They ATE. I mean, literally, too.

[Fin]

“If you’re here to hate on me some more, to tell me I’m a horrible person and kick me while I’m down, please just don’t,” she implores, her voice hoarse.

“I’m not, darling, I promise. I’m here to see if you’re okay.”

Fin was never rude to her, and he didn't hold a major grudge. He was more upset because that was his best friend, and she walked away from him like he meant nothing. Fin is a flirt, and Peyton has that charismatic personality, so they click. It's never a dull moment between these two; they regained a friendship and accepted that there was more between them. It's something that they never tried before, but Fin was tired of pretending that they didn't have anything going on. He was the emotional support best friend and always checked on her. He was there for her When the others had their guards up and wouldn't let her in. It was sweet because he noticed she felt alone and needed her family back, and he didn't hold leaving against her. He understood why she did it and didn't punish her for it, even if it hurt him.🎶 Strange look on his facePauses, then says. You're my best friend. And you knew what it was. He is in love. 🎶

[Riggs]

“Darling, stay safe and come back to us.”

“He’s right. I’ll monitor from here…but please, Peyton, don’t do anything stupid. I couldn’t bear to lose you again,” Riggs whispers.

Riggs is the one who wears his heart on his sleeve and is hurt because he wants to let her in but is scared because he doesn’t want to lose her again. I don’t think he could have handled her leaving again, and he just wanted to protect her. Don’t be fooled; he has his shy antics and pretends to be all lovey-dovey, but this man is 🤭😙. YES. He’s one of those. I’m telling you all, he lowkey carried during the sharing scenes, and he was very demanding. Hello, where did this man come from, and where did he leave shy Riggs? He calls her a good girl but punishes her if she steps out of line and upsets him 😃 We love a man who isn’t afraid to show her a good time.

🎶 You did a number on me. But honestly, baby, who's counting? I did a number on you. But honestly, baby, who's counting? 🎶

“She won’t even be able to move if we fuck each hole,” Riggs muses. “Ass, pussy, mouth. Fill each one and fuck her hard, and she’ll pass out filled with our cum without being able to leave.”

Do I have to say more, or can I leave it at this quote? I mean, RIGGS. 😧 I was like, hold up, this is the same man who is a total nerd and just flirts by using statistics. Yes, it’s that exact one. I’m in love with him.

“Enough fucking talking, or I’ll go out there and fuck your brother instead. Or Riggs or Fin or all bloody three.”

We love a friendly competition in RH. It’s all for the banter, but refreshing to see. Sometimes, all the men won’t be okay with sharing her entirely, and will be an adjustment. It's often surprising that the men in RHs are all possessive but don’t mind sharing. This one was a good representation of the men being possessive and coming to terms with sharing but also wanting to outdo each other. While they are with her, they want to be THE best for her. She loves them all, and while Tyler is special to her because he was her first love, she appreciates them all, and they all share different moments with her. Tyler, the long shared history. Fin, her best friend whom she’s always felt something for; Riggs, the nerdy friend who is now a changed man and lowkey obsessed with her and I’ve talked about Kalen enough. I love RHs if you didn’t know by my folder of 70+ books on my account. this one takes one of the top RHs I’ve read.

─── ・ 。゚☆: FRIENDSHIPS*.☽ .*:☆゚. ───

🎶 “What died didn't stay dead. What died didn't stay dead. You're alive, so alive” 🎶

“I love you, Minnow! Let me save you the way I couldn’t save my family. Go! Get out of here! I love you!”

I was so sad when Michael died. It reminded me of The Hunger Games and how Finnick died. It hurt, but it was necessary to save Peyton. But man, it was tragic. I wanted that Father/Daughter duo to exist outside the cave again; I thought they would make it. My heart breaks for Peyton and how she lost the only person she had when she didn’t have the guys, but I’m glad that she could still hear him when she was in the cave to make it out. He was the reason she survived; I know he was somehow paving the way for her and telling her to continue. It was so hard for her, understandable, and when all she wanted to do was give up, the men in her life were there as a support system.

•.¸♡ OVERALL ♡¸.•

SO SO GOOD. Peyton was my favorite in this. I love FMCs like her, and she’s so badass saving her men. They didn’t have to come to her rescue; she was protecting them the entire time. I was like, she carried the dive 🤭. The only reason it’s not rated higher was because I wanted more of their backgrounds, especially Kalen. I know the book would have been longer, but I wanted to understand how and why she fell for all of them — the versions of themselves she knew three years ago. They were all scared to death by what happened in the cave, so they chose to be together but still wanted that shared history. It’s always difficult for a stand-alone RH to encompass all that, considering it’s usually a series to focus on each man. It was a good read, though.

It is hard to believe Diver's Heart is written by the same author who have written Den of Vipers.

One thing is for sure that this book is not like any other RH books I have read. Reasons?

1) This book is a standalone. (Not often RH are standalones, usually they come in series. So yay!)
2) The characters are not eager to share from the onset. They take time to in terms with the idea of sharing.
They love. They hurt. They argue. They reason. They share.
This came as far cry from the usual get go of sharing.
3) The book had an entirely different face along with romance. Deep sea diving. Caves exploration. Mutant sea creatures. It gave a vibes of movies like Jaws and Pirhana.

I feel as a lot was going on at the same time, the relationships between the characters was not explored. That is the reason of a star less.
Otherwise, it was a great read.

3.5 Stars. Loved the diving scenes and setting. Diver's heart was good overall but there were some things that kept me from truly enjoying it. Parts of the story I found to be unrealistic, which I can't go into without giving spoilers so I'll leave it at that. It also had too many sex scenes in my opinion, which i found to be repetative and boring. Lastly, I didn't like how so many of the heroes personal interactions with Peyton were devoted toward arguing and sex. It just didn't leave me feeling all that strongly about the characters.

Finally getting around to review this and babies....babies. This was all the fantasies come to life. With that being said most of the time I was like “this is unhygienic!!” But then I was like multiple men? Multiple hot men? Sign me up. I totally understood the main character cause I too would also love them all and want them to take me to pound down. Anyways- I’ll just be here you know, wondering how and why I do this to myself but also thanking me and only me for committing to spice.
