ALL MY REVIEWS CAN BE FOUND ON MY BLOG: ABSTRACT BOOKS

line

'Redhead on the Run' is the first book of a series by Rebecca Royce. Told in dual Perspectives , this book was an amazing mixture of sweet and sassy!

This was a new to me author and her book was a pleasant read for me. Layla was one of the best characters I have ever encountered! She was caring , kind and so amazing. I loved to be in her mind and see how self less she was. Zeke was her perfect match. Those two were awesome together and I loved the bond they had. Even though Zeke was a jerk at times and I hated how he behaved sometimes , I got his reasoning. Overall these two made a great couple!

The storyline was good and all the characters were pretty great. A definite recommendation to all the contemporary romance lovers out there!!

I have been waiting to read this book since I first saw the cover and blurb. It was everything I was hoping for and so much more. I think what I loved most was how well we got to know Layla.

Everything about Layla was so relatable and I really loved that we were able to understand/know her so well. She was such an interesting mix of an old soul but also so innocent. She loved with her whole heart and was just so kind, even to strangers. She didn’t understand that her being so kind was her greatest strength. She just never saw the point of being rude or being malicious. Even when people were outright hostile to her she was never mean. The only person to get a feisty reaction out of her was Zeke. He was his own weird mixture of loyal, caring and jerk. He was just so scarred from his childhood he never wanted to give another woman the chance to leave him...Until Layla.

This book had my emotions everywhere. Mainly when Layla would be too hard on her self and think so poorly of herself. I think we are our harshest critique and Layla taught us that you need to love yourself. Even when you don’t feel confident, you should be. The other amazing takeaway from this book is not everyone is amazing at school and they don’t need to be. Layla had been told her whole life that she was stupid and just a pretty face. She ended up internalizing this and not seeing the amazing artist and person she was since her farther never let her draw and stifled her creativity. She would notice the minute details of a person and was able to read people so well. Plus she really understood art and the feeling behind it. She had so many amazing strengths and was smart just not from books! We need more Layla’s in this world. I’m so excited for the next book in the series!

‘I’d always been preoccupied with Zeke, the few times in life I’d been allowed to be around him.’

First off, Rebecca Royce is a new to me author and I wasn’t sure of much of the plot going in as I rarely read blurbs. All I knew is that it was an age gap romance and I am an absolute sucker for them so of course I had to sign up for the ARC.

Now this book wasn’t quite what I expected but it was at the same time, which yeah, I’m aware doesn’t make total sense. But hear me out. It was an age gap romance, and Zeke was her Father’s business partner who offered her a deal to help take her Father down. That all checked out. But it was a serious slow burn. Real slow. Which I do find irritating sometimes.

Also, I felt like I had no real clue as to just what was happening with Zeke and her Father’s business dealings and a lot of it was kept really vague? Which yeah, I get it wasn’t the main focus of the story but still, I at least like to know the motivations of the characters I’m reading about.

This story was told in first person narrative from Layla’s POV. I liked being in her mind, and her thought process most of the time made sense, but I did also roll my eyes at her a lot. I’m not going to lie, I’m not sure I will be continuing on with the series. Although, I am intrigued by her brother so we shall see…

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love this author's contemporary books and she once again managed to take me on an amazing ride in this book. Age gap is kind of one of my favourite tropes, so that, combined with the author made reading this ASAP a no-brainer.

Layla is one of the Radford siblings, living a life in the spotlight without having a real say in it. She lives the life dictated by her father and never really questioned it, until she's walking down the aisle.

But breaking free from the golden cage she was in, comes with a fallout of epic proportions.

This is the first book in a series where each of the Radford sisters will have their own story. I loved the overarcing storyline, that gives us parts about Layla's background, without losing the focus on the relationship development between her and Zeke.

I loved it and it sparked me to need to know more about the Radford triplets.

Growing up is never easy. Starting your own life is hard. Doing it in the public eye makes it easy to lose your true self. When Layla stands in front of the altar, she panics. The life she's about to sign up for is nothing she ever wanted. She doesn't even love her fiance. So she runs. Far far away. Betrail is one of the most common things in her life. So when her brother runs of with her ring. And her father casts her away. One of her sisters sends one to save her. As save her he does.

With a cover like this and a blurb that has all my favorite grabs - romantic arrangement, dark romance, age gap- I was super excited to read this one, and I have enjoyed co-writes I’ve read by Rebecca Royce, so I was intrigued. All in all, I enjoyed this age gap story- primarily because we get to experience a great character journey with our heroine and because the romance turned out to be pretty sweet and heartwarming in all the swoony ways.

First, I should say that this book is not at all what I expected based on the blurb. In many ways. I was expecting this to be a dark romance- something along the lines of consistent imminent danger, the power dynamics of an older man coercing a fleeing woman with the gift of safety, the fast-paced steam that comes with instalove, a hype alpha and controlling leading man, perhaps even a bit of kink or power play. And, this book was none of the things. Which, I think is why it took me a while to get into our story- I kept expecting it to shift gears to what I had told myself this was going to be- and it didn’t. This isn’t really dark- it’s light grey if even dark at all, at least in my spectrum. The burn is REALLY slow burn- our couple takes a long time to explore anything romantically, and when they do get together is it SCORCHING hot, but not really any darkness or some of the usual age gap tropes. The danger doesn’t really manifest until the last minute and wraps up too quickly to be pulled in. And, while our leading man is delicious and he has his moments of jealousy, he’s not super alpha- in fact, he spends most of the story empowering and building up our heroine rather than trying to control her. NOT a bad thing- in fact it is amazing- but not what I expected.

All that said, when I let go of my preconceived notions for what I thought this book was going to be and just experienced it for what it is, I enjoyed it. This is a slow burn age gap contemporary- the romance is mostly sweet and while sexy it is caring.

Like I mentioned above, this took me a minute to get into-in part because of my expectations and in part because of the pace- it starts out fast and then really moves slowly. About halfway in though, I really got into it.. The story definitely got better and better over time. The story starts with our heroine making a big decision on her wedding day and dramatically fleeing, running through Paris in her designer wedding gown. A socialite and uninspired influencer, Layla finds herself cut off from her family and her fortune, stranded in a city that speaks a language she can’t understand. Her father’s partner Zeke comes to her rescue- agreeing to care for her if she helps him find the information he needs to cut business ties with her shady father. Stuck leaving together, and pretending to be involved to irritate her father, Layla finally can spend time with the man she’s always been attracted to, even though he is 16 years her senior. Zeke is mysterious and particular- and while he starts to enjoy his time with her, he’s been clear with Layla that he’s not a relationship guy. But Layla feels like maybe there is more.

While the still somewhat unclear family business and romance are interesting and important to the story, I like how they really are catalysts to what this book is really about, about a young woman learning to love herself, to see her own worth and to stop pretending to be someone she’s not. Rebecca creates love stories- and one is about Layla loving herself. And that is really why I liked this story- because of that journey, because of Layla. She’s a likable and relatable heroine- because Royce lets her be real. She’s lost professionally, has no ambitions. She’s lost, unhappy, empty. But she’s also caring and so forgiving - incredibly generous with her heart, a creative and kind spirit just trapped in the personality of a person that she felt forced to be. And she was, to a certain extent, until she was jolted and then she found someone who finally accepted her, encouraged her, and empowered her to be herself. That helped her see herself, love herself, so she could start to break the narrative that others told, and that she told herself, and start to write a new story.

While I did not open this book for a sweet and gentle love story, I enjoyed Layla and Zeke’s unusual charm and interesting connection. The last part of the book was just so heart warming. Just in time for Rebecca to leave us with some unexpected foreshadowing of the series to come!

I loved this. I loved the whole plot, the characters, their connection. I love how they started and where they ended up and how they grew together and separately. Their backstories add a lot to their personalities and the relationship. Layla is so strong, but doesn’t realize it and has been able to keep her kindness even though she’s always been treated badly. I just really loved this story. Couldn’t put it down.

I can't say enough good things about this book! I couldn't put it down! The characters are interesting and the romance is hot. I know I read a lot of reverse harems so I just wanted to point out this mf but oh so good. The plot really kept you hooked, especially the last 1/3 of the book. I can't wait to read the next one!

“The day you pulled me into your gravitation meant that you’d never get away from me...”

LOVED IT!!!! Redhead on the Run is perfection and I can gladly say that it is just so refreshing, Rebecca Royce just made me a fan of her books with this one; the story is beautiful, the characters are so lovable, and I mean swoon worthy; we get the best topics ever in one story; age gap, possessive H under denial of true feelings and a redhead who is strong enough to capture the H´s attention…this can’t get better that that!

At 22 Layla has always depended on someone, she doesn’t know her true self; and the time for that revelation comes the day of her wedding…so she decides to become a runaway bride, consequences be damned. Except she didn’t anticipated those, so now being cut out of her family by her father after leaving on the altar who was almost royalty in the social standing, she is now in need for help, the only problem is that said help comes as Ezekiel Scott- Zeke, her father’s business partner and sixteen years her senior; he’s not a knight in shiny armor but that doesn’t stop Layla from wanting something for herself for once.

I have to say that this is one of the greatest age gap romances I’ve read this year; this story reflects perfectly the times we are living in…2020 in all its glory (don’t mind COVID), I’m talking about the social evolution and how love is never judged… gahh I want to say so much more but I won’t spoil a thing for you, please just pick up this book, and I guarantee you will fall in love with their story.

I love a good age gap romance, but this story just didn't get close to the mark for me.

I couldn't quite get into the story or the characters.
Layla is constantly saying how stupid she is and it got very annoying very fast. The constant references to her being a famous redhead and her saying the exact same reply each and every time also got old very fast.
Zeke I couldn't quite connect to either. We know Layla has a bit of a crush on him, but he doesn't really show romantic interest in her, and then all of a sudden he kissed her - for me it just came out of nowhere and didn't come across as genuine. Plus then he tells her after the kiss that she's young and he doesn't do love and romance etc, leaving me to wonder why he was the one to initiate the kiss in the first place? It's not like there was lead up to this and sexual tension and he just couldn't help himself, it literally came out of nowhere. Just didn't make sense to me.
Also wasn't sure the intended audience for this book, and whether it was YA? The writing just seemed a little... immature and confusing?

All in all it just wasn't for me.

Could a dress feel like a coffin? In Layla's case, even though the full feeling of it was completely last minute, the answer is yes, especially when you know the marriage isn't 100% for love and that no happiness will come from it. Redhead on the Run wasn't quite what I expected with a runaway bride story. It wasn't just a woman getting cold feet on the day of her wedding and then finding the real true love of her life later on. Sure, those things happened, but this had so much more depth to it. There was a great foundation and backstory helping the main part of the story branch off into something magnificent. I loved Layla as a main character. She had so much potential that many people ignored or didn't acknowledge simply because she learned at a different pace than others, making her seem less intelligent than those around her at times. Her pretty face was the only thing that was deemed worthy by her father. Her past with her family growing up wasn't ideal, there wasn't any real love shown and that really affected Layla as she grew older. What I loved most about this story was seeing how being in the limelight because of her family name affected Layla as a person, the constant pressure she was under to be the person she thought others wanted her to be, the pressure to please everyone. Her personality, although always positive, was another facade she had to put into place because it was expected of her. Seeing her begin to change as she learned to focus more on herself and what she wanted as opposed to everyone else was a huge relief. The simplest of things like finding the fun in shopping where it was a necessary task required to look a specific way, or finally diving into art when it wasn't appreciated or allowed beforehand. Those little things were so life changing for her and really made you not want to take the things you have for granted. With a father like Layla had, and I mean he was a real piece of work, you'd expect his kids to turn out way worse than they did. Layla took her crummy upbringing and changed it into a promising future. You have to applaud her for that. Can't wait to see what happens in her sisters' stories when they release!

At first, I wasn’t entirely sure I enjoyed Layla’s character. She seemed young and naive and all around struggling with understanding life. But as this story continues to develop, you learn that there is an ocean of depth in her soul and her mind, she’s just been held back by nearly everyone in her family from being who she wants to be. Which is a huge down fall in many of these portrayed, and real, wealth families. Layla is 22 years old and has spent her entire life pretending to be a character, a classified ‘REDHEAD”, because of her family traits.

It isn’t until she has an awakening moment on her wedding day and realizes how incorrectly matched she is with the man her family is making her marry. Not to mention her father is expecting a huge payout after this marriage is sealed. However, during this process she really starts to see that she doesn’t want to keep living her life for other people. She wants to make her own decisions.

After running away from her marriage, her father disowns her and she’s taken in by her father’s business partner, and long time crush of Layla’s – Zeke. The sexy and much older man she’s been crushing on since she was a teenager. While the sexual tension was enjoyable in this story and the heat between Layla and Zeke is palpable and nerve wracking, the parts I really enjoyed the most was Layla’s own inner dialogue.

Having the opportunity to witness her transformation first hand as the reader was my favorite part. She started learning things about herself – what she really liked and didn’t like – how she has not been living her best life even though this is what she supposedly teaches all of her amazing followers. This transformation of her breaking away from the mental and psychological abuses of her family and really living her life, was inspiring and motivating in a way that many romance books have not been to me. Royce really ties in realities of life to this story and I can’t wait to read more in the Redhead series about this family.

Redhead On The Run (RedHeads Book 1) Kindle Edition

by Rebecca Royce

Thank you to the author, Rebecca Royce, for a complimentary eARC. I am choosing to leave a fair and honest review.
One of the Queens of the Reverse Harems and Sci-fi romances takes on the fake relationship and, of course, does a fabulous job.
We start the story with Layla getting ready for her wedding, but she runs from the wedding. Her father finds her after her mad dash through the streets of Paris and promptly disinherits her. With no where else to go, she asks Zeke Stone, he father's partner and her first crush for help. He agrees, with the condition that she helps him break the business away from her father.
The characters are wonderful and the character arc that Layla lives through is both classic and original. Layla, who has the narration duties, changes from a neurotic, confused girl to an adult woman. Zeke Stone shifts from lover to broken jerk more times than most women would stand. Her two sisters (they are The Redheads – triplets of a wealthy family) stay in the background, but act as a kind of Greek Chorus, providing bits of exposition. As a fellow ginger, I loved the “I'm a redhead” anecdote – remembering that she burnt. Actually been there and done that!
Zeke is definitely broken boy, one of those men who say they aren't capable of love even though their every action prove they need it the most.
The plot moves along at a fair clip and the Pretty Woman similarities are fun, even though Layla is sort of the reverse of the Julia Roberts character.
The love scenes are scalding, when we get to them, if few.
This is the kind of book we need right now. Fun, bittersweet at times, and a bit frothy – much like the Whipped Coffee that has gotten us through this year.

It's amazing just how cruel family can be, but in Layla's case it just might be her salvation.

Layla was about to marry Kit Allard. Everything about this wedding was planned by her future mother-in-law, even her dress. As she walked down the aisle on her father's arm she realized she hated the man at the end of the aisle, and she was pretty sure he hated her too. With that thought she flees, running with no destination in mind, and losing her shoes in the process. She's in Paris, she doesn't speak or understand the language and finally when she ran out of steam she sat on a bench to think.

They found her there, her father, her sisters, Bridget and Hope, her brother Justin, and their security chief Michael. In a very public display her father disowns her ordering her siblings to follow or be cut as well. Justin gives her a debit card, and takes her jewelry to return to Kit, a promises to meet her at the Hotel des Oiseaux, 'the Hotel of Birds;. Unfortunately the debit card had no money on it.

It's Zach Scott who meets her there, her siblings all whisked away to the airport and a flight back to New York. That is except for Justin who took off with Kit.

Zach makes her an offer she has to take, a place to live and a promise to teach her how to never be in this position again.

What follows is a story as heartbreaking as it is romantic. Paris is for sure the city of love, and exploring it through their eyes was a beautiful experience.

Now you know nothing is going to be easy and the antagonist is the same throughout. Sometimes family just stinks. It's also an awaking of sorts for Layla and her sisters as well. But Layla hers is a journey, one you really mustn't miss.

I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

Do you ever start a book blind without reading the blurb? This is what I did with this one and I'm so glad I did. I received this as an ARC and I was drawn to the cover. Layla is part of a set of triplets that were thrust into the public eye. Unfortunately for her... she thinks that being an influencer socialite is all she can do since she's not smart like her sisters. The story begins with her getting ready for her wedding... another thing that she's just supposed to do... but she realizes that she's not in love with Kit so she runs. Little does she know this wedding is more lucrative than she knows. Her father disowns her and her family leaves her penniless in Paris. Enter Ezekiel Scott... her father's business partner. Zeke takes her in and makes her a deal... if she helps him take down her father he'll help her find her way to independence. Zeke doesn't know Layla's secret though... she's been in love with him since she was 13 and Zeke doesn't do relationships or serious... until now.

Layla is a character that I just wanted to hug and tell her that she is good enough, smart enough and gosh dangit people like her. I think that she may have some learning disabilities that were undiagnosed and it just made me so sad. I was so glad that she got her happy ending. She was treated like crap by everyone except her sisters.

Zeke... that man... he has no idea his effect on women. He was so caring and sexy. I have a feeling that he had feelings for Layla before the wedding but didn't truly realize it because he was too wrapped up in his no feelings mantra.

I loved this story and how they worked together to find themselves and love after such a mess.

What happens when all your life you do as you are told. You play your part, and you do it well. Until, the time comes when you realize you haven't lived, you have had a life and you are about to marry someone that you don't love...that you don't even like a little bit! You run! But, that comes with so many consequences. You are now disowned, betrayed, and clinging to the only familiar face in place you don't know. Layla is a socialite, not because she wants to be, but because she was told to be. She has never been able to just be Layla...she is The Redhead. She has never been without money, guards, her sisters. Now she is left with just Zach Scott. Her father's business associate who seems to not be on speaking terms with her father. Why is he willing to help her?
Zach has made Layla's father millions...but doesn't sit right with him about the business dealings. Especially after he learns what was going to happen if Layla went through with her wedding. The wheels begin to turn...He offers Layla a place to live and the opportunity to learn who she is and to be self-sufficient so that the problems she has now, will never happen to her again. All she has to do is help Zach anger her father enough that he starts letting information slip. So much goes on, and it is a roller coaster ride of feelings. I truly enjoyed Layla learned to be Layla, a woman not a socialite. I loved how Zach went from hard and unemotional to soft and supportive. Two lost people going through the motions of life but not really living it. Together they are amazing!

She is one of three. One of the redheads. She's Layla. Her father sees her only as a commodity to further his business. Nothing more. So it's no wonder she doesn't realize her own value, her own mind. But on her wedding day, walking down the aisle, Layla takes her first step towards becoming the woman she wants to be. And she does that by running. Little does it know she will end up in the arms of the man she has crushed on since she was 13. Zeke Scott is her father's estranged business partner and he doesn't do relationships. But this is Layla. The only redhead.

This is a runaway bride, age gap love story made special by the characters, especially Layla. I fell in love with her the moment she ran. So lost, so hurt, so innocent. She bewitched me. Her sisters commented on her big heart yet they made no effort to protect it. The constant message that she was less than her sisters and brother left her unquestioning. She accepted her lack of worth. That hurt. Zeke's forceful approach with her spurred on her sense of self-worth. He made her realize she didn't need anyone's permission to be who she wanted to be, to enjoy her life. She blossomed under his attention. His fascination with her was adorable. He was so closed off and without the extraordinary circumstances would have continued to enjoy his life on a superficial level, never realizing what he truly needed. Together, these two were magical. Their story was one of moments. Moments that captivated, amused, pained, and thrilled. I loved it.

Redhead on the Run was my first Rebecca Royce book, and honestly I had so much fun reading about Layla and Zeke! Their story was definitely different and yet sweet on a variety of levels. The Redhead Triplets remind me of the Kardashians, where their lives are always on camera and every outfit a focal point for the new fashion trend. It was refreshing to get Layla’s perspective on being famous and how society has certain expectations of you as a person and social icon. Zeke comes in like a knight in shining armor and helps Layla shed her insecurities.
“You help me, and I’ll see to it that you will never have to run from anyone ever again. They’ll run from you, honey. I promise you that.” —Zeke
As she helps Zeke and comes to love more of herself, their relationship blossoms and I absolutely loved it!

My favorite scenes were all their bantering with one another, especially during the more endearing moments where they found things in common together, like Star Trek! I found myself smiling when you saw peeks of how deeply Zeke really cared for Layla. His protectiveness towards her mixed with his above and beyond attitude in making sure she was constantly being herself around him melted my heart. The perfect treat for me was their first face-to-face encounter, I am pretty sure Zeke fell in love with Layla in that moment, but was too blinded by the well-deserved smack across the face she gave him to really compute his feelings. I knew she would be my favorite Redhead in that moment!

I look forward to the next installments with Hope and Bridgets stories!

Wow, Now I know why Rebecca is one of my favorite authors. This book was outstanding. The main characters I loved. They meshed together really well. I never thought Kayla was whiny. She actually believed all the things she said about herself. That's what happens when your parent tells you the same thing over and over. You have no self worth. I felt bad for her. You would think your sisters would have helped you strengthen your self confidence. But no they didn't.
Layla had no idea what to do with her life without someone telling her what to do. Running out of her wedding was the first real thing she ever done for herself. She knew in that moment her life would have been more miserable than it was now. There was no love lost between them. But she never expected for her father to kick her out of the family with nothing or her brother to betray her.
Here comes her Dad's business partner Zeke Scott to the rescue. She would have been lost without him. He made her a proposition that would benefit them both. Help her find herself and whatever she wants to do with her life. She would help him drive her Dad crazy so he could get out of partnership with him.
Zeke was the distraction that she needed and she was the one he didn't know he needed.
I love this book. It was an awesome start to a new series. I can't wait for the other sister's book's.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. The review is of my own opinion.

“Because it’s you. And you sleeping near me , making your little sounds, tells me you’re there. I really , really love when you’re there”-Zeke

Good Lord, this book had me swooning ! I need a billionaire named Zeke STAT.. he’s such a contradiction to everything he says ... “don’t fall in love with me” then “ I like you here” blah seriously? Talk about mix signals.. yeah so he’s 16 years older than her and her dads business partner ... yeah it’s totally fine ... what could go wrong?

“What was more was when he looked at me, it really did feel like he saw me”-Layla

So Layla is pretty lost , somehow along the way by trying to please everyone and I do mean everyone, Layla lost herself.. she has the incredible giant heart that she wears on her sleeve.. you can’t help but love her and her inner commentary cracked me up! She takes off leaving her fiancé at the alter and the one person who shows up for her is her long time crush ... Zeke.. I mean can her day get any more humiliating? Oh yes it can!!

I definitely felt all the feels reading this one.. I couldn’t have asked for a better book and I had no idea how much I would fall in love with these characters! This book was exactly what I never knew I needed! It’s seriously amazing.. I can’t wait for y’all to read this one.. I am a huge fan..

Running away on my wedding day probably wasn’t the best idea. Horrified by the future I'd signed up for, I turned right around and rushed up the aisle away from my drug-addicted groom....and right into the arms of my father's estranged business partner, Zeke Scott.

Zeke makes me a promise: he'll help me become independent, the kind of woman I've always wanted to be, if I help him discover my father's hidden secrets proving his betrayal.

But Zeke is a man with secrets of his own and although our love should be forbidden—he is sixteen years older with a lifetime of experience—I can’t resist the pull between us. The longer our explosive arrangement goes on--the less I want to.

He's another man in my life who wants something from me but at least he's honest about it and his kisses come with promises of freedom from the gilded bars I’ve spent a lifetime behind. But when the time comes to leave...can I walk away at all?

I have to admit that i really loved Layla and Zeke..
ok ok i have to admit that i loved Zeke more!
It was fun and wild and filled with sassiness.
This was an amazing ride that turned dark and a little bit twisted and then sweet and lovely and fun and i just couldn't put it down.
I absolutely loved it!
The author has done an amazing job with this book and i honestly can't wait to see what comes next.

I loved it! Layla and Zeke are just such great characters and found myself quickly immersed in their story.

This is a M/F Runaway Bride story with a Fake Dating twist.

At first I wasn’t sure if I liked Layla. I’m not usually drawn to characters that are constantly down on themselves, but the way Layla does it in such a ‘matter of fact’ way made me really want to understand her more. She has a really intuitive perception of others and even a good understanding of her own flaws, but she has a hard time seeing her own positive traits. I like that Zeke is helping her see her positive and find herself without being overly analytical and forceful on it or telling her what to do (like other people in her life). He helps lead her to making her own conclusions about what she wants.

As with other RR age gap stories, the age gap is not the focus of the story and it’s not fetishized. There is an age difference and they do address it briefly, but the idea is really more that Layla is mature and an ‘old soul’ type and not that they have a taboo attraction.

Overall, this book is sweet. Layla is a cinnamon roll. Zeke is a burly reclusive with a fancy side. They have a HEA. And I want the next book!

This is my first age gap romance, however I absolutely loved it and will definitely be reading more of this genre in future!!

Layla is such a strong, loveable heroine. I enjoyed reading her story from the very first page. Due to her being so young and being thrust into the limelight, she hasn't had much choice in how she wants her life to be, but I was absolutely rooting for her when she makes her first big choice and then sticks to her guns, even when her father and brother turn against her.

I absolutely loved Zeke. He is an independent, attractive business associate of Layla's fathers, and as soon as he took Layla under his wing, I knew I would love him. After giving her an offer she couldn't really refuse they embarked upon a whirlwind new adventure together, Zeke helping her be the best version of herself that she could be, and Layla showing him that he could be loved, even if he didn't really believe it.

They both had their obstacles to overcome and their own crazy backstories, and I couldn't help but be drawn in by this story. I adored them.

Can't wait to read the other Readhead sisters books too.

5*!

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book and it did not disappoint!!!!!. I wasnt sure what to expect but this book started out right away with suspense and action. It went right into it. Its about a young lady who decided she cant go along with her wedding and she runs out from the church and into a foreign country with nothing but the wedding dress on. I loved the emotions i was feeling when her family showed up. I was happy then angry then so sad for her....

I enjoyed the buildup to her love interest alot. I was impressed with the family dynamic before he even comes into the scene. The story flows so well and we get to see him fall for her without even meaning too...Even before that all happens we know pretty much what her family thinks of her. I was so happy this was an age-gap romance. I was not expecting the twist at the end so everyone get ready for this one because just when you think its about to end, BAM she shakes it up. I love reading Rebecca Royce and you will too!!!

Fantastic age-gap romance!

This is an absolutely fantastic age-gap, whirlwind, romance between two unlikely people. It is a rollercoaster ride of emotional ups and downs that will leave you begging for more!

Layla is such a carefree young woman who just seems to just go with the flow. She is very young and innocent and does what everyone tells her too. At times she really frustrated me because she is so naive and flighty that it made me want to yell at her to wake up. But that fact that she starts to make her own decisions for herself helps her to grow up quite a bit.

Zeke has a dark past that has hardened his heart to falling in love with anyone. Layla has been in love with Zeke since she was a teenager. Their relationship is a slow burn one but it was totally worth waiting for. The connection and attraction they have for one another just oozed off the pages.

The story is well written with little twists and turn throughout, which will capture your attention right from the beginning to the very end.

I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

This book came as a complete surprise to me for so many reasons. It could have taken the trope of girl running from her wedding and rehashed it the way so many have done before, but NOPE... If that’s what you think you’re getting, you couldn’t be further off base. This is one of those books that looks like one thing, but is really something else entirely. So while on the face of it, our FMC is a “young” 22 year old influencer, who seems to be the “worthless” daughter of the family only good for marrying off, she comes across as the best friend you want to cuddle up on the couch with and spill your secrets to over wine with. So she may be young, but she’s an old soul. Our MC tries (and fails) to be unloveable... He’s just not that good at it! What happens next is anyone’s guess! I can promise it’s worth a read because rather than recycling a trope, it’s been reimagined and expanded here.

Rebecca Royce hooked me from the first chapter to the very last! Layla is one of the redhead triplets and is about to marry her fiance when she suddenly realizes how wrong it is and runs away. She runs into her savior Zeke who is in a war with her father over the company they own together. Zeke wants to leave the company and sees Layla as the best way to achieve that goal. Zeke is always upfront with Layla but Layla can't fight her emotions and falls in love with the unobtainable older man. Zeke is a hot alpha that is possessive and fiercely devoted to Layla even if he doesn't realize it. Layla is an intriguing heroine that is lost and trying to find her place in the world of her own choosing instead of what her father chose for her. I can't wait to read Hope's story next and am excited for this entire series! The characters and plot were well written. I felt Layla while rich had vulnerabilities that were very relatable. This is a story you don't want to miss!

This was an interesting book. It was a little hard for me to get in ti at first but as I kept going, it got more interesting.

Layla is one of the famous redheads. Her father is a crooked businessman who basically arranges her wedding to Kit in exchange for money from Kit's family. Layla thinks she loves Kit but as she's walking down the aisle she decides she doesn't and she runs.

Her father cuts her off and tells her she has ruined everything. She ends up in a taxi to a hotel but can't pay for the taxi. Her father's business partner, Zeke Scott comes out of nowhere and pays for her taxi. They end up spending some time together and develop the plan to get back at her father by pretending to be together. In exchange Zeke says he will help her get her life together.

He continuously tells her that he doesn't do romance or relationships. She is essentially broke, lost, confused, and kind of alone but falling for this man she has lusted after since her childhood. She thinks hes falling for her too but when she tells him, he reminds her that he doesn't do this. He doesn't do love or relationships. Will he change his mind? Will she run again? Read it and find out.
