“Do you believe in the butterfly effect?”

There comes a time in your life when you’re faced with a choice. One that has the potential to alter the course of your life. I answered my mother’s call that day and everything changed.

The path I chose was a turnpike masquerading as a meadow, and the tolls I paid have been grave.

So I made a promise to myself that I will have my vengeance.

And with my dark Irish gods at my side, I will wreak havoc on everyone who had a hand in the destruction of the girl I used to be.

I was remade in the cabin in the woods. And I was forged in the warehouse fire. And like a phoenix, I will rise anew.

By the time I’m done, my path will be littered with the heads of my enemies.
But not before I claim what’s rightfully mine.

A great ending to Alaina's story.
Penelope Black has really tied the trilogy in a bittersweet way. I loved witnessing Alaina's character grow from an innocent naive girl to the strong, confident women she is in this book. The way her men cherished her and the way she reciprocated was perfectly written in this book.
I would have liked to see more of what she did with her life and with Gallagher industries. The epilogue felt too short :(
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the trilogy.

I really loved this little trilogy, but if I had to sum up this third installment in one word it would be "disappointed."

There were some good moments, and I still love these characters, but overall I was seriously underwhelmed. ...it was just so rushed and disappointing. I mean, they hype up Cillian as CRAZY for multiple books and we don't even get to see that meeting? Just a dance scene? I feel like everything was sort of glossed over, which was extra disappointing because it really seemed like the author was trying to focus on the plot instead of the sex and then...didn't fully deliver on the plot? Or I guess I should say that it was a good plot, just poor execution. All the structure was there, I just wanted more details.

And speaking of details, what was up with Mary? Maddie felt true to character throughout the series, but we got a very decisive switch with Mary that the author took the time to detail in multiple places (hello drunk phone call?) and then never explained? And they're just fine and friendly at the end?

I'm still waffling on how I feel about this series, because I genuinely loved all three of the men (and Lainey). That's pretty rare for me with RH reads, and I really appreciated the detailed approach to the dynamic from their side. However, I was (AGAIN) underwhelmed. There is a lot of great tension in this book, and there are some truly steamy scenes, but there were significantly more fade-to-black scenes and after the fact summaries than I'm used to seeing in this genre. And while I would agree with people who argue for quality over quantity, I feel like this series spent a lot of time building up to something it didn't deliver on.

And the two part epilogue... they felt so unnecessary? I would have much rather just had a scene between the four of them when it's all over instead of jumping ahead just to not tell us anything worthwhile?

Anyway, I feel like this got a lot more negative than I meant it to be because I just finished the series and I wanted more from it. However, I wanted more because the bones were good and I think it had a lot of potential. I still loved these characters and enjoyed the read.

I honestly wanted to like this book and series so much, especially because I’ve read all 3 books now. I felt like I couldn’t get over so many (some unexplained) little details throughout each of the books. For example, in book 1, Alaina calls Wolf her boyfriend after knowing him for less than a day. Who does that? In this book, when they were being chased by different people in cars, she mentioned how their car caught air and was in the air for a few seconds before hitting the ground. Unrealistic. So many questions in this book were completely left unanswered as well. The cousin being rude to Alaina on FaceTime? Never mentioned why. More information on her dad? Why they never felt the need to follow up with Benny after Alaina was “supposed to go on a date with him?” I’m truly not surprised that this book has so many glowing reviews because not everyone is going to read so far into the details like I did, but I just don’t think I’d read the series again.

Star Rating : 4/5 Stars

POV : Multiple

Cliffhanger : None

Hero : Sully , Rush , Wolf

Heroine : Alaine

Pace of the story : Moderate

Angst Rating : 6/10

Heat Rating : 6/10

Triggers Involved : Past Trauma , Kidnapping

Plot Summary :
Sully , Rush and Wolf are back! Alaina is now back with her men. But things are not the same. Since that last attack on them , they are vulnerable especially with Sully being Injured. Sully knows that he needs to accept his love for Alaina and now he is too late. He is the reason she was hurt and even though he loves her, he might never be able to tell her that.

Alaina is out of her kind with worry. Sully has always been the boy she loved and then the man who made her hate him. But she never was able to do that. No matter what he said to her, she would always love him. And now he was hurt. It might be too late for them but Alaina refused to accept that. With the other two men she loved, she would find him and then finally make him admit his love for her.

Overall Opinion :
My god, this whole series was one crazy ride! I loved it so much. From the moment I read the first book, I was hooked. All the men were perfect and so very amazing. They were different but they were the exact thing Alaina needed. Sully was the last piece to her puzzle. They were the couple who Intrigued me the most. I knew Sully and Alaina would have their happy ending and I couldn't wait to read that.

The conclusion to this series was amazing. I loved the ending and there were parts of this book which I found a tad bit boring, I don't know why, but I still loved it because I had been anticipating it for a long time. I would definitely recommend this trilogy to all the dark romance reverse harem lovers out there!

This was another book I 5-starred before I read it because I had THAT much faith in Penelope. Pfft, killed it. 🤘 Sully was everything we needed to conclude this epic tale about revenge, family, love, and brotherhood. A never-slows-down ride from beginning to end, tossed in with some hot AF, alpha, growly men and a sweet, but strong girl at the center.

I'm jumping right in. My FAVORITE part of this series is Alaina. That girl is so hard on herself. She finds herself lacking in everything the guys need all while having a silent strength that is EXACTLY what they need. If the guys are the brute force, Alaina is the heart and soul that keeps them alive. Each of her relationships with the guys was independent and so amazing.

Wolf is the goofy, sleep-talking sweetheart with an inner rage. Rush is the observant, quiet leader with eyes only for his girl. It took a while for Sully but once he was all in, he was all in and I loved his intensity. Some sexy...SEXY AF...times commences and 🥵🥵. Yes, please.

The plot was insane. SO many little twists and turns. So many revelations. Action-packed, thrilling, quick-paced. I can keep going, but really you should dive in.

The epilogue was adorably perfect. I cannot WAIT to dive into the spin-offs. Maddie is up first and based on her little group, I'm stoked. I'm over here like, gimmegimmegimme. 🤣

Series Overview
Alaina, on a dare, kisses a stranger who's been watching her every time she sings at a pubs open mic night. She catches feelings for her potentially soon-to-be stepbrother. And she encounters her ex-boyfriend and first love again after not seeing each other since a summer they both can't forget. Plot twist? They are all brothers. Can Alaina handle the whirlwind of emotions these three men will put her through? And will she be able to claim the brothers all for herself?

Review
The HEA taboo mafia RH romance was a let down for me. This series I would offer to a friend as a "dip the toes" into the RH (and even smut) world. So my advice: is you are interested in trying this genre out - read; if you are a known enjoyer of this genre - pass, because you might be left hanging and looking for more. This book had a good mafia story line to it, but it lost some of its appeal due to the level and placement of smut. The smut at times seemed out of place in the storyline. I felt myself wanting to skip past it just to focus on the mafia romance and suspense. All in all the smut was basically one giant tease and c*ockblock where "something" would start but someone or something would always interrupt. The only RH aspect of this is it being her and 3 guys. I did like the HEA ending to the book though. My favorite Fitzgerald boy would be Rush. Serious, protective, and the hand on the throat 🙌🏼

For me, this book started a lot better than it ended. There were so many unanswered questions built upon throughout the trilogy that the explanations fell flat. I honestly am not even sure who the baddie was-who his character was within the overall series. The romance was cute but the book felt a bit dull for me and not as exciting as what I’d been hoping for.

I’m so sad to see the end of Lainey and her boys, but excited to see what’s in store for more characters!

Sully was just as great as the previous books in the series, and I loved getting to know him more. The guys work so well together, and their love for Lainey is amazing!

Lainey really started to come into her own, and I’m so glad to see her growth. She faced some hard truths and unexpected turn of events, and she took it all in stride.

This book picked up right at the end of the cliffhanger in Rush, and I’m so glad that we didn’t miss a minute.

The steam was great! Great chemistry between them. The action was written well and really kept me hooked on.

The epilogue wasn’t super long but gave us just a glimpse into their future, which i found super sweet! Perfect ending.

Excited for Maddie’s book! I’m so intrigued as to what her history with Matteo is!

Yes! This whole series is woven by secrets and lies, but Sully delivers the final punch to the gut.
Fast paced and action packed, this is a book I devoured in a few hours.

Alaina is the star of the series in my opinion. She's hard on herself, smart and feisty. And no matter what she does and where she goes, the boys are there watching her back. The boys are yum! Alpha borderline caveman.

The danger, however, is always lurking in the shadows.

So, be ready for more action, intense unbelievable moments that leave you gasping for air. I lost count on how many times I was biting my lip and holding my breath while reading.
And the ending was the sweetest.

If you're looking for a story with anger, passion and bite, this is for you!

I read the whole series in almost 3 hours. It was that addicting. Anything of Penelope Black is an instant read for me 🦋

Alaina is such a unique name. The character development was sooo good. Rush, Wolf and Sully are absolutely amazing men and I'm sad that their story is over 🥺❤

I almost saw the plot twist coming. And the spicy scenes? Whew!! 😂🔥🔥🌶🥵 Also, thank god the misunderstanding was finally cleared up. I was dying for it to be explained.

That ending? I can't believe there isn't a novella to continue the epilogue 😭

And the plot line for Maddie is so interesting that I can't wait to start the series.

Final book in this fantastic trilogy

This book and series deserves more than 5 stars.

Sully is the final book in The Brotherhood trilogy and it was everything. It picks up right where book 2 "Rush" ended. There is lots of twists and turns in this series. We find the answers to the secrets that we have been craving the answers for, we find out the history of Alaiana's family that she never knew about and holy hell we find out who the stalker is!!!!! We saw Alaina's true strength and courage in this book. We finally got to see all 3 brothers admit how they feel about Alaina and accept that she is their girl plus we got a few steamy scenes that we had all been waiting for ;-)

I am sad to see this series end, however the 3 month and 3 year epilogue was the finality that as readers we needed and Penelope gave the ending that it deserved. I feel like it is complete and cannot wait to read the spin offs that Penelope is going to write for the secondary characters, Maddie's is the first one up and I cannot wait to read it.

Sully by Penelope Black is the third and final book in The Brotherhood series.

This was a great ending to this Irish mafia, reverse harem romance, which definitely heated up towards the end. It was overall a clean finish with all loose ends tied up, secrets revealed and the relationships defined.

I hope there’s more books to come, as I’d love to know about Maddie and her guys.

And with the entry of this last book of the trilogy, Sully, the story is complete!

The 3 brothers are used to working together in the brotherhood, but it's taken a long time for them to get completely comfortable with the idea of sharing Alaina. If they had their way, they'd have her to themselves. Each of them. They're all very much pure alpha through and through, but with very different personalities. But those personalities are what make this RH work well.. They each take care of a certain part of Alaina, as well as a joint one together. Alaina is in heaven!

I loved how the boys were with Alaina in the bedroom. They each had their own kink. Sully though was always shown to have a strong streak of voyeurism, which helped when they made the move into having more than one brother in the bedroom - and was also page burning hot to watch!! 🔥🔥😈

The plane scene was scorching and I loved it but the one thing missing was a true foursome where they would have been all together at the same time.... Now THAT would have been off the charts! 🔥🔥

The conclusion to this is a little unexpected! I mean, they're not even in the USA when theyre able to get enough clues to put it together. Again, each brother has a specific talent that helps in tracking down Alainas stalker.

We see Alaina grow from this soft, naive, clueless girl to a capable, strong able woman, the brothers are proud to stand beside when shit hits the fan.

I would have loved a slightly longer epilogue! I love seeing how things pan out afterwards! But apart from that, this is a great trilogy to read. Would have loved a bit more input with the Brotherhood - we didn't really touch much on that, but I get this was mostly about Alaina and her life and troubles, rather than the boys.

What is great to note is Ms Black is bring a followup out about Maddie, so even though that should be good, I hold out hope for the King Sisters still!!

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review

Warning Rant and Spoilers!

I didn't love it or enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Mostly because some moments and plot points were annoying. Like how fast she called Wolf her boyfriend even after he told her how he didn't want a relationship with anyone and when Rush called her his sloppy seconds after just one kiss. Or her understandable jealousy towards the king sisters, her men didn't make her feel secure and wanted. What kind of boyfriends would make their girlfriend feel like the third wheel? Answer not very good ones. There are so many other storyline points I didn't enjoy but my main annoyance with this story is James aka Sully. I hate second chance tropes and James is a good example why. He never thought about her side of the story. He didn't even try hard enough or do everything he could to find her. If he just put himself in her shoes he would have realized that it looked like he was blowing her off after she told him how she felt. If he really loved her and wanted to be with her like he said he did he would have, no should have sucked up his pride and asked Rush to find her. Or he could have gone back to her dorm again after summer was over because he knew she was still in school. He even could have gone to O'Malley's to look for her. He had no right to be mad with her. And when they finally had the conversation about that night he never apologized and what made it even worse was that she was the one who felt foolish and embarrassed. He was self centered and one of the moments that I think really shows it was when he said to make himself feel better he drowned himself in pussy. So, not only did he treat the supposed love of his life like crap but he saw other women as objects to get his d**k wet just because he was so unbelievably "heartbroken". Oh and you can't forget the cherry on top he also called her a bitch. Read it. Don't read it. I don't care. Thanks for listening to my Ted Talk.

I have been salivating to get my hands on this book and it did not disappoint. I literally could not put it down. I am so impressed with the character and story development in this series and think it was a super smart strategy to leave Sully for last. Wolf and Rush got me addicted to the Brotherhood and Sully was just the icing on the cake.
This last installment picks up right where Rush leaves off and Penelope leaves no questions unanswered. Alaina becomes a beast in this story. No more Miss Nice Girl, she fights for her guys and her life. At every turn, she is right there with them grabbing hold of their happily ever after. Lots of surprises in this one, but most importantly she gets to a place of forgiveness and fierce protectiveness with Sully. He's always been her missing piece and she discovers she isn't whole without him.
I can't wait for more from Penelope!

I knew Sully would complete my heart and I couldn't have asked for a better ending to the series.
After the ending of Rush I was hanging by a thread waiting to find out what would happen to Alaina and her guys.

We are finally given the answers to the questions and secrets that we have been craving for and honestly I was not expecting the drama that unfolded. Alaina has come on so far since we first met her, she is such a strong passionate character who you cant help but love. Wolf, Rush and Sully wormed their way into my heart and I never want to let them go. They protect their own and bought Alaina into the fold like she was always apart of them, and of course the sexy scenes that we have been waiting for.

The epilogue was the perfect ending the book deserved. I cant wait to read the spin offs that Penelope is going to write and hoping catch up with Alaina and her guys.

On one hand, this escalated the romance which made me happy. These guys are great and having them all come together and fall in love was great. I liked seeing into Sully's head, since he's been the holdout and he and Alaina finally worked out their past issues.

On the other hand, I wasn't super happy with the reveal of the bad guy(s). I thought it was a bit too simple and the climax was kind of quick. I also still can't get over Alaina's dad. I did think Alaina and the guys went through a lot, kidnapping, burning buildings, betrayals, etc. I just wanted a bigger, more intricate ending I guess.

I am looking forward to Maddie's book and I hope we still get to see characters from this trilogy too!

Sully, the last book of The Brotherhood series.
I'm a HUGE fan of this series and was sad to read it's last book.
Finally the secrets come out, we find out who the stalker is and also find out the gist of Alainas family history and the outcomes to follow.
I loved reading Alainas character develop into the badass that she is, and her relationship with the boys....phew get me the fire extinguisher!!!
The spice scenes were hot.
The action scenes were amazing. Just the complete story was AMAZING.
I'm going to go cry now because its ended.
P.s bring on maddie's story next.

Alaina is beginning to find the pieces of herself. Pieces she didn’t realize she'd lost, parts of herself that she had either been burying or denying herself of the opportunity to explore. As clarity settles on her shoulders, she feels a sense of peace at the idea of discovering herself. She  refocuses. Even though Alaina has gone through so much she still holds her head high. She's stronger than she realizes.
Alaina is determined to bring Sully out of his shell. Only her love can bring back the James she fell in love with.
Wolf, Rush and Sully continue their journey with Alaina to help her unravel the mystery of her past and who put a hit on her.

Awesome! What an amazing way to end this series! The ending was really good, and kinda shocking, but I will admit a little fast/rushed.

But I seriously enjoyed this book, probably the best one out of the series in my opinion.

You see the characters growth, especially Alaina’s.

Multiple POVs
Sexiness: 4 out 5

Seriously the ending was perfect and super sweet!!

This review is of my own opinion.

Sully is book three of The Brotherhood. This is the final book in the series and what a cracker it is too.

During the previous two books there was so many questions that needed answers to.. finally we get them in Sully. I love how we see Alaina grow in strength.

This is a brilliant trilogy that I highly recommend. I’m looking forward to reading many more brilliant reads from this author.

What an ending!

So glad that Alaina and her men got their hea! There journey was long and tough, but they got through it together.

I’m hoping, one day, that there will be a bonus epilogue as I know I’m going to miss these characters so much! I also want to see how and what they’re doing.

Definitely recommend this series if you want a lighter Mafia RH romance!

Kind of disappointed with who the villain turned out to be. I knew that guy was shady, but I didn't expect him to be the big bad. It's hard to believe he was the mastermind lol. The dude was as delusional as the first guy Alaina killed.

The King sisters need their own series js
