Watch Me Burn #7

Wrath of Rage

Rate this book
Being Archer Hendricks’ little sister has always had its problems.
My dates ending up dead, kids at school shunning me, and every aspect of my life controlled.

I’ve always been kept on the outside of the crew life, always watching, and never participating.
I craved to be a part of my brother’s world, no matter the danger.
Looks like my wish has been granted because Rage Evans knows I exist.
Nothing good can come from that.

The loathing Rage feels for my brother and the other crews will be the death of me.
Being taken by the most violent man alive means I’m about to have my spirit broken and the pieces scattered for my brother to find.
I’m meant to be a means to an end.

I pray for the Reaper’s crew to find me, to save me before I’m broken at the hands of this monster.
He thrives off another’s pain, and his soulless eyes drink in the torture inflicted by his men.
His wrath is nowhere near as intense as his heart once I grab hold of it.

My name’s Charlie Hendricks, and the Devil has me wrapped in chains.
Sending me on a one-way trip to Hell.

**WARNING** This is book 7 in the series and it must be read in order despite characters changing. It is MF, and is the darkest in the series. It has kidnapping, and severe abuse and rape content between the leading characters.

I have been waiting for the story. I knew it was going to be brutal, dark and absolutely explosive and RE Bond delivered. I would have liked for it to be even longer or maybe a duet because I don’t think I can get enough of Rage and Charlie (I’m feeling a little greedy).

This is one of the author’s darker books, please read the trigger warnings before embarking on this journey. In saying that, a lot of the events had to happen with who Rage is. Obviously what Charlie goes through is horrible but with Rage’s track records did we really expect anything else? I think Charlie’s strength, resilience and her innocent/not so innocent personality and outlook really were the light in the story.

I can’t say much without giving a majority of the plot away. I will say that I think this book focused mainly on Charlie and Rage and the change of the dynamics between them. It also focused on how Rage conducts himself and the crews and how he changed. I loved getting to know him more, seeing him more as a person and learning about his past.

I feel like some of the crew staff may have been rushed a little bit at the end. However, the final book is coming soon which I think will finally tie up all the loose ends and expand things a bit more. There were some lines/comments to lead into the next book in regards to Rory. I think I’ve come to accept her very rapid mood swings so I can see why some things happened the way that they did.

I can’t wait for the conclusion of the series. I love the world that the author has created and I feel like I’ve become so invested in these characters. My favorite books of the series have been Jade, Lexi and Charlie’s stories so I’m looking forward to seeing how all the characters connect and how the author will conclude the series.

Read to me by Alexa — DNF at 50%
2🌶 to 3🌶 — not sure how to rate this one because I didn’t finish and the spice that was present wasnt enjoyable to read.

So…. I thought I was prepared but I wasn’t. I read the warnings but still wasn’t what I expected. If you don’t want to read spoilers then just know that I like dark romance… have read other dark romances that feature non-con….. and this was too much for me. Heed the TW, but also note that you just generally have to be unfazed by all violence to enjoy this book.

Spoilers ahead.

So I knew there was non-con btwn the main characters. That was fine with me. What I wasn’t prepared for was that Rage let his men rape her…. More than once. It was hard to read. I personally could not find him redeemable after that.

Then… he makes a sudden change and decides to start treating her like a roommate instead of a prisoner….literally that same afternoon….

The progression of the story doesn’t make sense at all. I’ve read other dark romances and I’m used to the FMC falling in love with the villain in those stories. But it typically doesn’t happen literally the same afternoon as a gang rape.

Then, even though the progression of the relationship btwn the main characters doesn’t make sense you start to accept it and hope for some twisted HEA. But NOPE. Rage sends one of his men to rape her , brutally, AGAIN. Literally the next day she’s trying to save his life. I had to stop at that point.

I hate to give a book 1⭐️ just because it isn’t my tastes…. And maybe that’s the problem… it was too dark for me. But I’m having trouble calling this a romance. And again…. The progression doesn’t make sense. She goes from being absolutely terrified of him… to falling for him without any real cause.

R.E. Bond has done a tremendously outstanding job with this series and has been by far one of the best I've ever read.

Even though R.E. Bond is fairly new in the writing word, I have to say she's done a very well job with her first series and I can't wait to see what journey she'll take us on next. I honestly think this has been the best RH series EVER!

Every glimpse and story we've gotten from these guys in these gangs has been downright phenomenal and I have grown to love these crews and gangs and these girls have been some of the strongest heroines I've ever read. They are some bada$$ b*tches ever and I loved ever second of their interactions in the books. I wish I had the guts like them because they just had the b@lls like a man to take on just about anyone and I loved that about them.

Rage and Charlie were no different from the rest, their story was just as exciting to read as the other characters we've read in the Watch Me Burn series and I'm so stoked to see how it will all end.

I want to start off with how much I enjoy this authors work! She comes up with amazing storylines and I am always looking forward to her next book! This one was dark. The writing is incredible but I didn’t enjoy this one as much as I have the other books in this series. Let me explain. Spoilers ahead…

Yes, Rage is a crazy psycho. But he let people rape Charlie. (We already knew that would happen so I tried to go in with an open mind) but I just think that one is A LOT harder to overcome more than anything. I honestly think if the author was able to break this into a 2-part story, I would have enjoyed it better. Slowly we started to see Rages emotions start to change. But then I felt like we ran out of time and he did a 180 over night. Had it have been a little more gradually like it was at first compared to all of a sudden, I would have liked it more.

Charlie is almost a perfect match for Rage. He is definitely the type to not compete with so I feel like he genuinely needed someone who he could teach everything too. Because when she does become a bada** later, she has him to thank. Lol

I also enjoyed hearing about his background but I wanted to know more about how he saved young girls from the skin trade. Yes, Rage did have redeeming qualities but I felt like some were glossed over and some came too easy.

I hope we get to hear more about this couple in the final book. I’m curious to see where they end up and I want to see how Rage will interact with all of the crews.

This was a crazy ride. The rape scenes are not descriptive and she zones out from them so if you have any doubts, it’s really not that bad to read.

*Overall 3.5/5
*Heat? 3/5
*First person POV - Rage and Charlie
*Dark? 3/5
*Triggers? Yes. Rape and molest
*HEA? Yes. They are definitely on their way.

I feel like Watch Me Burn gets darker and darker as these books go on. I wasn't too sure how I was going to like Charlie in the beginning, but the first time she cracked a joke at Rage, I knew she was going to be a favorite.

Charlie has been protected her whole life and all she wants to do is be independent, not be sheltered, not just be Archer's little sister. Her whole character grows over this book and she definitely had me rolling at some of her pick up lines.

Rage, or Angry Man as Rory likes to call him, is hard on the outside, but Charlie has cracked that exterior. He is super possessive, especially when Charlie has wormed her way under his skin. He is the ultimate alphahole and doesn't apologize for anything.

Even though Rage put her through some absolutely horrendous things, I love their chemistry, they are 🔥🔥🔥 I also love Charlie and Sniper's friendship as well.

I have grown to love all the characters in this series, I so excited for Sinners Reign, but I am going to be so sad when it all ends.

Wrath of Rage by R.E. Bond is a truly dark romance between Rage and Charlie where my resolve for reading some of the chapters was tested but it definitely did not disappoint at the end.

Rage was running from his demons all his life, killing and maiming and doing the hurting so he would never again be the one hurt and Charlie saw through that. She recognized the hurt and unloved boy underneath Rage’s vicious persona. She wanted him to feel loved and cared for for once.

This wasn’t too easy for me to connect to from the beginning. I couldn’t wrap my head around Charlie’s quick forgiveness of such cruelty by Rage AND his men. To my surprise though, I was crying for Rage and Charlie by 80 percent of the book. I guess it took much longer for me to get to where Charlie was from almost the beginning. That’s how a good author works I guess. She surprises you with your own reactions and feelings.

I reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I shouldn’t have loved this story considering how dark it was. But the author made me fall in love with a guy who definitely was psychotic.

Rage has been a character that scarily lurked in the background and he was not a good person. Knowing he would be paired with Charlie had me worried and I was throughout the first half of the book. Take heed of the author’s warning. This book is the darkest in an already dark series.

Charlie and Rage’s romance is a strange one but for some odd reason they bring out the best in each other. We learn more about his background and why he is the way he is. Your heart will break a little.

Nice to see the other series’ characters pop in. Always a fun time. Lol.

Wrath Of Rage by R.E. Bond is a dark romance. This is the seventh book in the Watch Me Burn series.

The book comes with a warning; "This MF book is the darkest in the series. It has kidnapping, and severe abuse and rape content between the leading characters."

I absolutely love Rachael's books! She does an amazing job pulling you into the story. I am not going to lie in the beginning of the book I couldn't stand Charlie but by the end I fell in love in love with her. Her relationship with Rage is so messed up but you couldn't help but root for them by the end. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the final book in the series Sinners Reign to be released on March 10, 2022.

I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, captive romances, or romantic suspense.

Rage is a monster…

Wow I’m actually at a loss for words. I’m not sure how I feel about this one. I don’t know if I hate/loved a character before like Rage. He is a monster! No arguing about that. What he did and what he let be done to Charlie was disgusting. I really don’t know if it’s realistic about how fast she bounced back from all of what was done to her and to then say she loved Rage.
So Rage does have good reasons for being the monster he is. Does that excuse his actions HELL NO!
RE Bond knows how to write a story that twists your guts, breaks your heart and leaves you wondering why you loved it so much! She is phenomenal in writing these characters and bringing them to life.
I love the world she has created and hate to see it ending in the next book. This is one series I could keep reading over and over again.

I love the Watch me Burn series and this is another 5⭐️ read in the series.

I loved everything about this book, the relationship between Rage and Charlie was so emotionally heartbreaking but also so amazing to see it go from complete enemies to what they became. I love Charlie’s character, even though her brother saw her and acted like she was an immature child she was so put together and stronger than they gave her credit for.

This is a duel POV book which just makes it incredible. I was so invested in the story I couldn’t put it down. I love the authors writing style, it makes you feel part of the story and experience the characters emotions.

These books get darker and darker the more they go on and this is definitely a dark book with kidnap, torture, abuse, sexual violence, death. So please read trigger warnings before going in.

Incredible book and a fave series of mine so I can’t wait to read them all again in order when the last book releases 🖤🖤

I went into reading this book excited to learn more about Rage but also terrified. Throughout the entire series he’s described as the devil himself but this book opened up my eyes completely to him and now I can say he’s probably one my favorite characters in this series. Absolutely loved this book and the story of Rage and Charlie. Definitely one of my favorites of the series, I wish the book was longer for sure, I kept finding myself wanting more of rage and Charlie’s story but I know they will be present in the next one so I will take that win!

I was super excited for this story and it didn't disappoint! Charlie is an amazing FMC and I loved her and Rage had me laughing my butt off at his possessive antics.

I laughed, I got mad. My emotions were all over the place.
This series continues to be a favorite of mine and I can't wait for the final book.

This book was an emotional roller coaster. One minute I’m hating Rage for what he does or allows to happen and the next my heart aches for him. Charlie is a strong lady. She goes through so much but she comes out with something she wants most ardently. I’m happy to see our resident angry man accept the love Charlie so desperately wants to give him.

Every book in this series gets better and better! The Watch me Burn series will forever be one of my favorites.

I absolutely loved Rage and Charlie's story. This story was ruthless and brutal and had so much story packed into it I was so sad it ended.
I knew their story would be good, but I had no idea what I was in for. The entire book kept me wanting and I was no disappointed.

3.5 ⭐️

Wrath of Rage by R.E. Bond is the seventh book from the Watch Me Burn series. Although considered a Standalone, it is interconnected to the other books within the series with characters from the other books crossing over and making appearances. Seeing as it is all set in the same world.
The story follows Charlie Hendricks and Rage Evans through the telling of their dual perspective.

R.E. Bond was right in saying this book was dark, depraved, twisted and sadistic AF.
In fact it has to be the darkest book out of the whole series IMO.
The all consuming darkness surrounding Charlie and Rage's story led to a narrative that was deeply intense from the raw, nitty gritty emotions it emanated on top of the vile, horrific and traumatic events that occur throughout.
R.E. Bond had us diving into both of the characters separately within their perspective of their every day lives, until they are brought face to face to then be in each other’s presence from then onwards.
During their time together we were able to uncover the bits and pieces that made up who Charlie and Rage were. Especially given that during their close proximity to one another, the exposure into their personal thoughts start to unravel. Showing a deeper real side to both that was kept hidden before.
Over the course of the narrative, the peeling back of their layers simultaneously is what starts to become the main focus of their journey they navigate upon. Allowing us to get to know the characters in a more in-depth level.
This ultimately resulted in the exploration of some truly deep, hard hitting, intensely strong, emotionally charged feelings. Connecting Charlie and Rage to one another, despite the fight that is put up with denying it. Especially in Rage’s case.

Evil psychopath, giant douchebag, asshole Rage was truly a vile and awful human being, especially when it came to his obsession of revenge that had him losing his mind at times. The constant need to carry out heinous, deviant and immorally wrong acts, which were truly twisted, evil and wicked. And just knowing the pain and heartache it caused Charlie as well as seeing the end results from her thoughts and emotions alone told you just how bad it really was for her.
However one thing Rage doesn’t count on is for Charlie’s will not to break, or allowing him to destroy her strength, no matter what he did. Seeing that and the way she stayed strong and held on allowed something deep down inside of him to change and start to feel differently for her.
Causing the process of a fracture to occur within his armour he has to shield himself from the pain he tried to hide. Ultimately leading to a big turning point within the story, giving the changes we start to see in him and his behaviour, especially towards Charlie.

Despite Charlie being sheltered her whole life and kept away from the gang world. She was actually a little bit more tougher and stronger than she looked or had you expecting.
The proof was in the fact that despite the horrific and traumatic acts that she endured and suffered through, she never broke down or allowed it to destroy her in any way.
For that she deserved props, always looking to the brighter side even if there didn’t seem to be one. Believing that she would survive.
One thing for sure was she had a pure and kind heart, not wanting to hurt Rage or allow anyone else to. Especially her brother Archer and his gang, when circumstances lead to it.
Instead always choosing to believe he was worth saving by willing to overlook his “mistakes”. And knowing deep inside of him was just a broken person who had been hurt deeply. It just showed what a kind soul she truly was.

Unfortunately there were a couple of things that I wasn’t so keen on when it came to Wrath of Rage and that was mainly my issue with Charlie.
While all being here for girl power, seeing a strong, touch, fierce and sassy woman fight back. However in this case the way Charlie did a 180 fairly quickly and easy, going from a weak, quite and vulnerable girl, to a sassy and strong girl just didn’t sit right with me. It felt so unrealistic, especially with how she was able to treat Rage and hit back at him as if it was no big deal. Sassing him back and being like she was the almighty one.
It honestly felt almost like she and Lexi did a personality swap, seeing as Lexi went from being a strong, badass girl to being weak in her story Don’t Fear The Reaper. And Charlie did the opposite going from weak to strong within a very short period of time in her story. IMO it just didn’t work for me with being highly unlikely and believable, which is ultimately why the story fell short for me.

With all that said, Wrath of Rage was still a good read overall. It just wasn’t my favourite standalone within the series, that honour still goes to Jade and Harley's story Perfectly Jaded.
With the glimpses and peeks into Rory and Skeet, it has me excited for their finale Sinners Reign. Something tells me R.E. Bond will be ending their story with a BANG! Which has me looking forward to it.

And he raged with a wrath so blinding that he didn’t see her coming

Charlie has always lived a sheltered life away from The Reapers of Chaos, her brother Archer providing for her, want for nothing, but a years old grudge with The Shadow Kings moreso Rage, puts Charlie square in his path, and when he catches a glimpse of her, Rage will do anything to have her.

Rage taunts her, Archer, The Reapers of Chaos and The Bloody Psychos, showing them he has significant power and control, that he is a man to fear above all else. When Rage kidnaps Charlie, he proves he truly is the man he is, and he shows Charlie just who he is when he and his men break her.

Charlie puts up one hell of a fight, determined not to loose herself, showing strength she didn’t know she had. Charlie begins to develop a relationship with Rage, Rage doesn’t understand why she would go to so much effort, knowing who and what he is, but she starts to grow on him.

Archer is becoming desperate to get Charlie back, and she withdrawals into herself when Archer speaks down to her, treating her like a child. All she wants to do is be treated like an adult, to be heard and to be listened to, to be respected and included.

Rage begins to train Charlie with the knowledge and skills needed to defend herself, she proved herself to him, by turning away from those that come to save her, and defends him, by taking out those who would not speak kindly about him.

Rage has a dark past, so traumatic, it has hardened him, made him the man that he is, and when he shares those truths with Charlie, in his mind, he knows she’ll betray him and hurt him, and that’s why he can’t open up to her, trust her. Rage is developing these foreign feelings for Charlie, he doesn’t understand them, doesn’t know what to make of them, because the people that were supposed to love him, and people that he was supposed to trust, hurt him, he’s not sure on how to accept what Charlie is giving him.

Rage begins to somewhat accept Charlie, that having her around isn’t a bad thing, that she is growing on him, that they’re living a domestic life, doing things any normal couple would do, except they’re not, and when Rage lets Charlie go, Archer sees another side of Charlie, one that he has never see before, and all he will ever do is treat her like the child that she is despite the trauma that she herself has faced.

And when Charlie experienced something so profound and life changing, she runs straight back to Rage without a second thought, and when she reveals to him what she found out, he can’t help but feel scared, but he will do anything and everything to protect her and their unborn child, moreso putting a ring on her finger and not giving her choice, but the bittersweet moment is when they finally declare there love for each other.

The book has very dark and heavy triggers and may not be for you. This book has it all dark romance, murder, madness, mayhem, revenge, vengeance, violence, adrenaline seeking suspense, possessiveness, dominant alpha male, a sassy female who gives as good as she gets, jealousy, twists, turns, truths and betrayal.

This story is told from multiple POV, it will take you on a wild ride, having you turn page after page, this book had me from the beginning to the end. The author definitely knows how to write and I’ll be coming back for more.

And those s*x scenes were steamy, had all the angry angst, hate, jealousy and possessiveness, dominance and passion one would expect when Rage shows his girl who he really is and takes him for all that he is dark and all. Despite there trauma, they work well together in there own way, because nothing will come between them. They love each other, regardless of there differences, because they are in this together. Onto book eight!

This book is DARK and it seems like every book within the Watch Me Burn gets darker and darker. Even though it was extremely dark and twisted and felt like a little along the line of Stockholm Syndrome, I loved it. The writing and storyline was incredible, and I found myself liking this book more than the others of the series.

Rage is crazy and along the lines of psychopath. He has always been a character in the background, but you see what goes behind his mind in this book. Him and Charlie's romance is strange and different, but you see the progression in this book. Even though Rage allowed what was done to Charlie, you get to see how he despises it. He is unhinged and has been doing what he's been doing for so long, he doesn't understand anything else. I am definitely not taking his side, but in order to like this book you have to see the full picture.

Charlie has been through so much in this book, but she still remains strong and still sees something in Rage. She's been locked up her entire life and been kept away from this world, which allowed her to be able to see a different perspective in Rage and his actions. Her brother has always treated her as a princess and making sure she wasn't aware of what was going on and making sure she was ignorant. Archer treats her as a child and all she wants is to belong, which Rage sees and makes sure she can grow in this world.

This book was definitely a dark rollercoaster and was brutal, but they do get their HEA. If you are a fan of morally gray stories than this is for you. Make sure to check the trigger warnings, because this book is DARK.

I’m not gonna lie, this one was a little hard to read in the beginning. I went in blind without reading the premise and it is one of the more darker books that I have read.

Charlie Hendricks is the little sister of Archer Hendricks who is a leader of the Reaper Crew. He has tried his best to keep his little sister out of the crew business as way to keep her innocent from the crew life. Rage Evans, the leader of the Kings crew comes and snatches her away while Archer and Lexi are on honeymoon. And then things get interesting from there.

The one thing that really stuck out to me while reading was how keen Charlie was on trying to understand why Rage is the way his is and how his past motivates his actions. No matter how crazy things were in the beginning (emphasis on crazy), she knew that Rage had a horrible past and she wanted him to know that she was in his corner. I loved how she was always trying to show him that she cared and respected his boundaries while trying to get him to open up to her.

I also liked how Rage was trying to help her learn the things she wanted to learn but could not because of her brother. Rage saw her as an adult and not just Archer’s little sister. I like that he gave her some room to grow and at the same time let her in on his childhood. Plus, his conversation with Archer towards the end had me giggling. He slowly won me over.

This was the first book I read in the series and will be going back to read them in order. But 8/10 would recommend reading and be aware of trigger warnings!

Wow…I didn’t think the Watch Me Burn series could get any better. This is one series that I know I will be rereading more than once in the future. Wrath of Rage definitely had me rethinking my opinion of Rage. He has been the anti hero or should I say “bad guy” of the series but Wrath of Rage may not have me thinking that he is a “good guy” but does provide insight on his actions. Wrath of Rage is anything but predictable. It’s full of twists, turns, things going sideways, drama secrets, revelations, some very thought provoking subjects, dark elements, emotions (whether it made me laugh or cry), and so very very hot 🔥. Please, please heed the trigger warnings. There are quite a few hard, dark, subjects that can be triggers. If you have triggers then I highly suggest that you find another book or series for that matter. I enjoy dark romances mainly cause it is over the top and it is all about how a person’s past or events that happened either to them or someone close to them that can shape the person they eventually become. The characters all have issues and challenges that help make them the well rounded characters that you can feel empathy for or have them make you (readers) think about them as having characteristics that bring them to life. R.E. Bond, author, does all of that and more. If you love hot🔥, dark, drama filled romances then I highly recommend Wrath if Rage, Watch Me Burn series, and R.E. Bond as an author. Happy reading 📖!

Having not read the prior 6 books in this series, I was going into it somewhat blind. I typically never read a book this far into a series without reading the books before them but I ended up reading this one first.

One of the only complaints that I have about the book (which may be my fault due to me not reading the other books) was how rushed everything was in the prologue. When I was reading it, it really made me worried about how the rest of the book was going to be written. Thankfully, I didn't have any issues with the rest of the book. I feel like I probably just have to read the other books to get more details from what was mentioned in the prologue.

Aside from that, I enjoyed the book. The entire time I was rooting for Charlie and hoping that Rage would come to his senses. There were a lot of things he did in the book that really bothered me and I personally would not be able to forgive, but going into this I knew that it was going to be incredibly dark and twisted. With that in mind, I really couldn't hate him despite how upset some things made me.

Unlike everyone else, Charlie was able to see another side of him and that was exactly what he needed in his life. And he was exactly what she needed, in a way. I was glad that things ended the way they did and that things were able to develop more between them.

All in all, I thought it was a good book and I enjoyed the characters. It has made me want to read the rest of the series.

Let me start by saying, leave your morals at the door!!! If are sensitive to triggering material, can’t separate fiction from real life issues, or need Prince Charming in your stories, this book will NOT be for you!

I liked this one!!! If you haven’t read any of the other books in this series yet, you will be utterly lost! Start with Pretty Lies🖤

Rage has basically been everyone’s boogie man throughout this series, and now he’s Charlie’s own personal nightmare.

Rage is every bit of awful that you’d expect… maybe worse. His backstory is pretty messed up, and I wish we would’ve gotten a few more details. It wouldn’t excuse the things he’s done, but it would’ve given me a better understanding of him. I didn’t hate him, I mean his actions are vile, but I didn’t hate him. He may be the darkest character in this series though.

Charlie was likable from the get go! I didn’t like the way her brother treated her even before Rage comes into the picture. I can see why she relates and connects with Rage so quickly. Her growth is pretty amazing throughout the book! Her ability to roll with the punches and laugh it off made me like her that much more!

I LOVED Sniper!!! I wish he could get his own book! The way he looked out for Charlie and stood up to Rage 🥺

I can’t wait for the last book in this series

I freaking loved this book so much! I had been anxiously waiting for Rage’s book since he first showed up and it was so worth it!

I wasn’t too sure how well of a match little Charlie would be for Rage but she ended up being much stronger and more brave than I gave her credit for. I can completely relate to her problem of her brother and everyone around her treating her like a child when she isn’t one and it made me angry for her. Once someone has a certain view or opinion of you, it’s hard to ever get them to see you any other way. Rage put her through some seriously messed up situations but she remained strong and beat down his walls.

Rage…oh my gosh where do I start?! That man is my absolute favorite and I didn’t think anyone but topple Skeeter off that throne but he did lol Rage thought he could play games with Charlie but he met his match with her. I loved that we got his backstory and I hope that him and Slash end up having a better relationship in Rory’s next book. The banter between Rage and Charlie was hilarious and it was so nice watching them slowly fall in love with each other.

This is my favorite book in this series and I didn’t want it to end! It was full of action, tragic backstories, alpha males, a strong heroine, funny banter, and lots of steamy scenes. I highly recommend this book and series!

Love this series!

Little Hendricks is all grown up. Sheltered as best he could, Archer attempted to keep Charlie from their crew world. Without success of course. Hiding her away at school only lasted so long. She may have seemed naive, we all knew she couldn’t be deep down. She’s never survive in their world.

Enter Rage. Like Jade and Jensen in previous books, Rage was one of the three characters I really wanted back story’s for. I needed to know what made them tick.

Themes have been dark throughout Watch Me Burn. This is a different kind of darkness - Rage is truly a broken soul. His backstory, everything.

“Revenge was best served with a slice of fear and a whole lot of pain.”

In walks the monster, threatening dreams, lives and sanity even. But I think if we looked at him from early on, it hinted he had ulterior motives.

“I’d learned from an early age that I couldn’t trust anyone, not even family, so I’d had no choice but to save myself.”

I didn’t find him a psychopath as we’d all been lead to believe through other character’s eyes. His life was formed by experience, mistrust and betrayal. He’s not nice by any stretch of the imagination. We all need an anti hero to love, for me, this was Rage.

One click this baby and read about the monster Rage became. And yes, I enjoyed the heck out of this. 4.5 stars.

The Journey with The Devil

Dear Ms. Bond, How are you able to write such a dark book, but made me laugh, cry, feel broken and put me back together in the end? I didn't think it was possible with a dark book, but holy moly, it is a journey worth taking.

First, this book is dark. You thought Rory's story was dark? You've seen nothing yet. You must read the previous books in this series first.

Charlie and Rage's story starts out violent, emotionally draining, traumatic and everything you'd expect in a R.E. Bond book. The characters that you've grown to love in previous books show up and you remember why you loved them in the first place. As we learn more about Rage and why he is the way he is, you just understand and have empathy for him. Is he redeemable for what he's done? No. Does he grow as a person? Yes. Does he remain an anti-hero? Yes.

Charlie, O sweet Charlie, tamed the Devil. Despite her traumatic rollercoaster of a ride, she begins the story being sheltered and in hiding. She wants more, craves it. It takes the Devil to truly bring out a stronger, more confident Charlie. Her growth as a women is remarkable.

I don't have triggers, so nothing bothered me. Please be aware if you have triggers. This book is DARK. If you're ok with triggers, commence and enjoy the journey. It is a difficult one, but I promise it is worth it.

Rage is evil personified. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to find out that he is literally the Devil.

That being said, I was eager to watch him being brought to his knees. Oh, how the mighty fell.

This story is DARK. Please be responsible and heed the trigger warnings before you begin reading. They are there for a reason and should be taken seriously. There are no excuses or justifications for the things Rage does and has done. He doesn’t apologize and he doesn’t suddenly change who he is. Rage and Charlie’s story is difficult to read and painful, but they find their way to happiness in the end. Rage does grow and Charlie makes it her mission to show him what love is.

Rage’s childhood was full of betrayal and pain and devoid of love. He lived through things no one should ever have to experience, much less a child. He grew up desperate to feel in control and he’s made some horrific choices because of this. It was interesting to get to know the villain of the story and see what made them into who they are now.

Charlie is Rage’s light. She calms his demons and chases away the shadows. Rage believes in her and doesn’t make her feel shame for who she is. They end up being a perfect match for each other. Rage will never be the hero, but he discovers that seeing Charlie hurt, hurts him. This does motivate him to make less evil choices going forward. I enjoyed reading their story. 🖤

Another Twisted Masterpiece

It shouldn’t feel so right when it’s so wrong, but the pure evil of Rage was yet again an epic telling by RE Bond. This series has been deeply dark on so many level, but mixed with so much heat and passion it’s hard not to feel affected by these alphas and their tortured souls.

Although a stand-alone in its truest sense, the series builds up a vast backstory and character development, so by the time we got to Rage’s story, we’ve already learnt to love to game him (and hate to love him!). Charlie, on the other hand, isn’t as integral to the plot in the preceding books until much later, so there is an appealing freshness to the story.

Fast paced, eventful, yet not over narrated, a lot of the inner turmoils of the characters is left to the readers imagination, but it’s really suited the style of both this book and the series as a whole. I feel oddly sated having finished this in virtually one sitting, with a keen anticipation for the last book in the series without feeling robbed or afflicted by a cliffhanger. There’s a mixture of a HEA and a promise for more to come in a perfectly tied up parcel.

Can’t wait to find out the conclusion to Rory’s and the crews’ stories in the final book!

This is the seventh book in this incredible series and is Rage and Charlie’s journey. Charlie is resilient, strong, and independent, and she is Archer’s little sister, so she has been protected and controlled all her life by him and his crew, but she has always kept to the outskirts. Rage is a violent, possessive, and ruthless alpha, who loathes Archer, and has his revenge by kidnapping Charlie. Charlie prays that her brother will find her quickly, as she knows that her spirit is about to be broken by these monsters, but she will never give up, and she certainly gives Rage a run for his money. I had serious doubts if Rage could redeem himself by his actions, and the dynamics between his and Charlie changes over time. This is a well written story which, is the darkest story to date, and it is raw, gritty, intense, and thrilling, with redemption, action, emotions, and love, which leads to an addictive and powerful page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend to dark stories.
Be aware there may be triggers for some readers due to the sensitive content!

This is my favourite book of the spin off series' this author has written. Loved Jade's book the most until this beauty came onto my kindle and I was sucked in so hard and fast, I didn't realise what the time was and was confused as to why it was after midnight.

Rage caught my eye in Lexi's book (I didn't/couldn't finish it cos Archer annoyed me too much) and I was hoping and praying he would be next on the list to have a book. Imagine my shock and excitement when the cover for this baby was released. I screamed 😂😂

I loved everything about this. How strong Charlie's will was, how tortured and brittle Rage is even tho he's cinnamon roll way, way down deep inside. How they meshed together like a beautiful puzzle, their fights, his trauma, how he stood up for Charlie against her fool brother 🙄

This for me is the kind of book I adore, more than any other trope. I read it again immediately when I woke up the next day and still adored these characters. I imagine a lot more re-reads are on the agenda in the not to distant future.
