Hunting the Reaper

Rate this book
She fled in the dead of night,
Where will she run?
No stone left unturned,
Who will feel my wrath?
A few steps behind her every move,
How many more will suffer?
Her punishment will be severe,
When will she be aware?
With each swing of her scythe,
Why does it make me writhe?

When Selene left us in pursuit of her sister,
She had no idea what she let loose.
Now I hunt her day and night,
Collecting her secrets in plain sight.
She doesn’t have long until her time runs out,
It’s her fault the four of us have feelings we can’t ignore.
If she finds out we’ve fucked with her plans,
We might just find ourselves dead with her scythe on our foreheads.

Cue Ozzy Osbourne; I can hear the crazy train while reading this book.
These ladies slayed it. C.A. Rene and R.E. Bond are powerhouses together. I said it before, and I am repeating it; I am far from disappointed. The series is not a stand-alone; the novella The Reaper Incarnated should be read first. On my dark scale, it's gray.

What lengths would you go to find your missing sister sold to human trafficking? Well, you become Selene Aka, The Reaper. A totally unhinged, badass vigilante. Really she is bat-shit crazy. Selene is not one to be messed with and has excellent detective skills. Not only that, she made me laugh on several occasions—such great dark humor. Selene changing the words to a song, priceless and epic.

Selene fled in the middle of the night and left behind her four guys to find her sister. She does not want the guys to get involved. The guys are pissed as wanting her back; Blaze, the hunter of the four, finds and stalks her and waits for the right opportunity. They will go through hell and back for her; no doubt they would kill or burn down anything in their path,

The book is a dark, crazy, twisted, and unpredictable ride. Not one detail is overturned, and no holes in the plot. I love all four men, but Santos is my favorite. He and Darius do not label their sexuality and are comfortable with it. Santos is hard on the outside but is soft on the inside for his loved ones. Darius takes the brunt from Santos but is more level-headed. Zander and Blaze, I wonder if there is some underlying feeling besides friendship and if so, I say giddy-up. They all make my lady bits of beep beep.

I am almost 24 hours out from reading this book and still pumped up. That ending set me over the edge, well-played ladies, to get me to read the next book. I loved it!!!

I think this book adheres to the saying ‘start as you mean to go on’. It starts with a lot of murder (all justified of course) and naturally progresses to a lot more murder. I appreciate the constant action though. Throw me in at the deep end, I'm ready 🏊🏻‍♀️🌊

There was no easing you in to the plot and I honestly preferred it this way. The action just started from the first page. Usually, backstories need to be built, but in this case, the situation you ‘walked into’ is all you needed to understand the FMC. It was a different way to do it, but I liked this alternative approach.

So the FMC was a vigilante killer/ fake prostitute (for uncover reasons), but obviously, she was so much more than that as the book progresses. It’s reminiscent of the Mindf*ck series, but I would say this FMC was a little more deranged and a lot more detached. Her approach to anything sexual was either very transactional or she didn’t equate too much meaning to it. Probably due to her past childhood trauma.

The MMCs are low to moderately psychopathic. There are 4 of them, so each one was at a different place on the scale.

It was very smut-heavy, probably because the FMC used her body to her advantage a lot, but also because she had a really intimate relationship with the MMCs. I think at times it got a tad repetitive and at some points, I wasn’t entirely in favour of her decisions.

⚠️Triggers ⚠️
Attempted SA, dub-con, murder, numerous mentions of SA, numerous mentions of SA of a minor.

I don’t believe the mentions of SA were detailed, but if you are sensitive to any of the other triggers maybe don’t read it.

This was a pretty quick read and the chapters are quite short, so it will be interesting to see if book 2 is similar. Also, I hope the FMC continues to have an ‘I don’t give a f*ck’ attitude because I’m very supportive of it. Rating it a solid 3.5 ⭐️.

Thanks for the recommendation Rachel 💕

When the hunter becomes hunted.

Santos, Zander, Blaze, and Darius are beyond pissed that their girl left them and went on the run alone to try to find her sister that went missing many years ago.

Selene is an unhinged murderer on a warpath of seeking vengeance. She gets close to evil men, basically prostituting herself to get close to these guys that are part of the sex trafficking world to grab any information that she can get- to try to find her sister. Along the way she kills and because she has four hot, gorgeous psychopathic guys on her tail that are obsessed with her, they get jealous and they also kill. and I’m not talking about shooting someone down. These are gory murders. These authors have a very vivid imagination. Lol

Do the boys find their girl? Yes they do and she definitely gets her punishments. 😈😈

I’m going to say that if you have any triggers, this series probably isn’t for you. There’s a lot of detail of killing. Graphic scenes of violence. There is blood play, knife play, murdering mayhem, etc.

This book has no limitations on sex. There’s MM, FF, MFM, MMFM, and more. It’s one huge gangbang festivity. Throat fucking, DP, titty fucking with blood… I’m telling you.. this book.. it’s dark and juicy.
❤️‍🔥
“I grab her by the throat and yank her into me, pressing my mouth to hers. “You don’t get a fucking say any longer, Reaper. You take whatever the fuck we give you and you smile while it’s happening.
“I flick my tongue against her bottom lip, and she snaps at it, making me laugh…”

When the gang is together and there’s promises made that she won’t turn her back on them again and run, there’s definitely some plot twists that happen. And yes, this book does leave off on a cliffhanger. Which, I personally am totally fine with because that means the story is not over and we get to read more about these fucking twisted ass characters. I am absolutely obsessed with this series.

“I’ll be stabbing some motherfuckers when I get out, “I saying, “I’ll be stabbing some dirty cunts when I get out. Stabbing motherfuckers, I’ll be stabbing motherfuckers, I’ll be stabbing dirty cunts when I get out. I’ll be cutting off some dicks when I get out, I’ll be cutting off some dicks when I get out. Cutting off some dicks, I’ll be cutting off some dicks, I’ll be cutting off some dicks when I get out. “ - Selene

Unconventional and entertaining

Confident and independent Selene embarks on a journey to find those who harmed her sister and along the way meets four very alpha and very crazy guys. This book starts in with Selene having left the fold to independently investigate.

The beauty of this story is its mystery and adventure, its grittiness, the heroine's independence in managing life, and the not-so-sweet but honest portrayal of the characters. Always love these authors showing everyone as flawed, some more than others, and that flaw characters can be unconventionally altruistic. Selene was a strong protagonist adored by a motley crew of fierce and dangerous alphas, her de facto harem, and each of them of dark backgrounds all brought together in a fiery mix of vigilante, serial killer justice.

A medium pace plot line that for my preferences and story progression I would have liked faster eventually revolves around the underground and the harem. I loved the story's steaminess, the sexual freedom including MM and FF, and its twisted, accepted characters. The stalking and the crazy characters were probably my favorite aspects of the book. Great read.

This book was epic. I laughed until I couldn't breathe and I was shocked by the darkness and the bloodthirsty nature of these characters. It was absolutely amazing. This series is really something twisted and crazy and very very special. Selene does exactly what she wants and will use everything she has to reach her goals. Nothing will get in her way. Her guy's are so crazy and protective and I just love the way they want her. You all are in for an amazing ride with this series.

This series makes my dark little heart sing 🖤

Jam packed full of delicious retribution, blood, and hot AF kinky steam book 2 does not disappoint. I loved seeing the dynamic between the FMC and her guys, even from a distance and although the sex outside of the harem was a little hard to read, it really added depth to the story and the FMC discovering the depth her feelings.

And can we just talk about the twists that punch you in the gut at the end?!?! I was not ready!

If you love wallowing in the darkness, this series is definitely for you!

this novel is really unusual and insanely dark, but at the same time captivating and intriguing.

despite the characters’ multitudes of flaws, I found myself swooning over nearly all of them, from selene to santos and to the other three men as well, of course. selene is a BADASS by the way. I love her unpredictability, and the fact that she’d go to such lengths to hunt for her sister (while being hunted by blaze). she is both skilled and deranged, making her the perfect protagonist.

I must say, the grisly murders described in the novel were also well thought out and exceptionally vivid, keeping me on edge when their time comes.

the best part of the book is that it is rather racy and includes MM, MFM, FF… it is basically the epitome of sexual freedom.

Soooo…
The first half of this book was wholly unnecessary, in my humble opinion.
I’m not gonna lie, I had to talk myself out of DNFing more than once.
Just a bunch of OM/OW shit that really served no purpose other than to piss me off.

The second half just barely saved it though, and now I’m in for the ride.

There should be zero reason for any more of that shit in the next book so hopefully it’s done.

I love getting my sticky fingers on advanced copies, ‘Hunting The Reaper’ was a treat, a naughty, vengeful, and little disturbing treat, with so much heat, I’m sure I’m heading to the flaming depths myself.

This isn’t a sweet book, this is sibling love at its finest, a sister pathing the world in red to find her older sister who was sold into the world of sex slavery…it’s dark, but it is written in a way you can’t help but snort out a few chuckles, it has a lot of triggers, manly the death kind, because this girl, is going the perch the world of all the sick individuals.

The guys…well what can one say about them, they all have their version of psychopathic tendencies, and it shows throughout this book, but they balance each other perfectly, with our reaper in the middle like sticky unforeseen glue, a love they didn't realise that they needed, the struggles at the beginning showed the power she had over them, but our lone wolf hasn't seen that yet, she has had a singular focus…but in time she will.

Let’s talk about the twisty ending, made me smile, I'm still humming the new version of ‘She’ll be coming ‘round the mountain when she comes’...I'm itching for the next book.

Selene, Santos, Darius Zander, and Blaze are back in Hunting The Reaper, the first full installment in the Reaped series.
The word that instantly comes to mind when describing this book is Phenomenal.
It’s a dark reverse harem that’s extremely sexy, gory, and had me unexpectedly dying of laughter.

Selene is a badass vigilante on a mission.
She is looking for her sister (that story is told in the prequel The Reaper Incarnate).
Nothing will stop her.
When she leaves the harem with no explanation, she has no clue about the chaos created by her departure.

“She’ll come home, and when she does, we’ll make her scream for forgiveness for days on end. Until then, shut it all out. Rein in that anger and hold its leash tight. What you’re feeling is normal, stop fighting it.”

Santos is still a psychopath, but now he has a broken heart.
Darius takes the brunt of Santos’s rage.
They have an extremely close relationship, and he keeps Santos grounded when the crazy starts creeping its way to the surface.
Blaze has a much bigger role in this book.
There’s just something so attractive about his madness and obsession with finding Selene.
Zander’s a BOSS!
With his ability to keep everyone in line, he quickly morphs into the unofficial leader of the group.

Reading The Reaper Incarnate is required before reading this book, but I would highly recommend this series.
Selene and her harem have a story you don’t want to miss.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars.

This was just as cuckoo bananas bonkers as The Reaper Incarnate and I was absolutely here for it.

Hunting The Reaper picks up just where we left off, with Selene leaving the guys to go off on her own to find answers about her sister. But little does she know that Blaze is hot on her tail while she’s gone, following her every move and even leaving her little treats.

Selene might be the most unhinged FMC I’ve ever read, and honestly her energy is refreshing. She’s been through a lot of horrible shit and has taken the reins to her life, operating in a way that she believes will make the world a better place, getting rid of the monsters who ruin lives every day.

I love all of Selene’s guys, but I really enjoyed the increased air time that Darius and Santos got here. Their relationship is really special, and I hope we get to explore more of it in the next book.

Spice overall was great as expected, and I’m chomping at the bit for Claiming the Reaper 😩

These two have delivered another amazing book! I have been waiting to get my grabby hands on this since it was announced that the novella was only the beginning. It's dark, it's bloody, it's steamy, but it also has that bit of humor to it.

Selene is bad. She's resourceful, smart, and definitely doesn't back down from anyone. All she wants to do is find her sister and she will do whatever it takes to do that.

Blaze, Zander, Santos and Darius just want Selene back after she ran from them. Once they get her back it is explosive! The way that they all fit together is just 👌👌 perfection. Some may be a little unhinged, but they definitely balance each other out.

I love this series so much. It speaks to my little cold, black heart 🤣🤣 I cannot wait for the next installment, it's going to be epic! I am anxiously waiting to see what these two authors have come up with for the next book.

Holy sh*t the ladies slayed this book! I loved every single word! I couldn’t stop reading and devoured the chapters as fast as Selena’s knife sinks into someone.

Selene is still a bad*ss and her love for her knife, and her need to kill only rivals her need for good 🐓. Her men are still sexy, dark, and twisted! Blaze has a darkness that is only calmed by death and Selene. Zander is the glue that holds them all together. Darius is the calm in the storm, and he will do anything for his family. Santos is a whole level of crazy! And I’m here for every one of his moments.

I need the next book ASAP! I can’t wait to read more about the the reaper incarnate and all four of her guys! Heed the trigger warnings. This book is dark and twisted, the best kind!

Selena is one bad chica!!! She is on a mission and isn’t letting anyone or anything deter her from it. Even if it means leaving her boys behind. She’s out for justice and on a hunt to find her sister, in doing so, she is making her way through all the filthy men that think they are above the law. Selena puts them all in their place.

Her boys weren’t just going to let her go that easily. Tracking her down, they keep their distance but are ready to rescue her if need be.

Blood, gore, steam, and a plot to have you wanting more, Hunting the Reaper is one of the top revenge/vigilante series out there!!!

Read Responsibly.

Hunting The Reaper by C.A. Rene and R.E.Bond will make you question your sanity. Because extremely crazy, uber dark and supremely twisted things are happening here and you will still like it. The level of depravity and violence is really extreme. Nothing is off limits. Everything is fair in love, war and sex when it comes to Selene and her men.

Selene has been searching for her long lost sister sold to human traffickers. She has been hunting down the pervert and corrupt sexual predators. Hence the name..the Reaper. And in her quest, she finds a group of equally ruthless and deviant men who embraced her darkness. But she has not found her sister yet and so she runs away without letting her men know. They will chase her but Selene is on an adventure full of dirty filthy violent moments.

It's rare to find dark romance when the heroine matches the heroes in darkness like Selene did. She is..just different. She will make you laugh with her sick humor while killing someone mercilessly. She is proud of her sexuality and never holds back her needs. No shame..no guilt..no doubt. She keeps on doing these insane things. And her men..Zander, Blaze, Darius and Santos are right there with her. They worship her but they are also super possessive and protective and they won't let her go unpunished for her insolence and for putting herself in danger. They are also unhinged and dangerous and deviant. Santos is the most unstable and the most complex one. Please read the trigger warnings because this story doesn't sugarcoat things at all. A lot of adventure is still coming and I am excited to see.

What did I just read? This was an amazing book! I read The Reaper Incarnate novella in the Violent Tendencies anthology; I've been dying to get more ever since. C.A. Rene & R.E. Bond left me speechless.

Where do I even begin? I started this book and finished it in one go. This book was dark, crazy, gritty, hot, bloody, and with some twists and turns that left me in shock; the book kept me on edge the entire time, but I do have to say it is not for the faint of heart.

Selene is still a badass, just like in The Reaper Incarnate. Selene left everything behind because she is on a mission; she is ending those who deserve it while hunting for answers about her sister, but the guys are ready to hunt their reaper down and brought her back home.

Blaze showed more of his crazy side in this book, how big his obsession for Selene truly is and how far he will go with no hesitation for her as long as it means getting their girl back home.

Santos was already the craziest of the four, the biggest psychopath, but the struggle to stay in control and his pain after Selene is gone shows that he does have a heart, a broken one until she's back.

Darius is struggling without Selene, just like the rest, but he is the only one that can tame Santos; their connection is something special and different from the one they share with Blaze and Zane.

Zane struggles on the inside but shows the calmest attitude on the outside for the sake of the rest. He keeps Blaze, Santos, and Darius in line like no one else can. Without Zane, there will be more chaos.

Did I love everything about this book just like I did with The Reaper Incarnate? Yes, I did! Selene is perfect for the four guys, and they are exactly what she needed and didn't know. Each one of them has its crazy side, and they work perfectly together in every way. We got some answers to some questions, but a lot of others arose.

That cliffhanger left me dying! I can't wait for the next book. If you are looking for a dark and twisted RH, then you need The Reapers Incarnate & Hunting the Reaper in your life. If you have some triggers, I advised you to make sure this book is safe for you before jumping in.

Not gonna lie this book took a turn I was not expecting, but these two authors make even craziest twists possible!

Selene left her harem and is back on her mission to find her sister. Of course the boys wouldn’t let her go so easily and Blaze was quick to track her down.
Selena is as blood thirsty as before and her journey to find her sister is filled with mystery and suspense. She is prepared to do anything to get answers which leads to lots of steamy as well as bloody scenes.
First half of the story follows Selene, but the real fun starts once the gang is back together in the second half.

Unexpected secrets and mysteries are revealed and I can’t wait to see how it will all play out in the final book!

Goddamn I love these characters!!! I laughed out loud I don’t even know how many times. Santos is the funniest MF’er ever and when Daddy Blaze actually makes a joke and startles the rest of them? Legit tears from laughing so hard! Selena is trashy and crass and makes no apologizes for it. (If I’m honest, she even makes me cringe sometimes, which makes me love her give-no-shits attitude even more).

Hunting the Reaper picks up from book one and I loved it. We get a lot of Selena’s and Blaze’s POV with snippets from the other guys at home waiting on updates and trying not to go crazy.

This series is DERANGED! Dark, twisted, bloodthirsty, and just fucking crazy and I love every second of this roller coaster ride these authors have us on.

The hunt is intoxicating.

I must be just as crazy if I enjoy reading how far these men will go to show who their Reaper belongs to (and vice versa), but I can't help it. C.A. Rene and R.E. Bond have me so in love with these characters and their chemistry.

The twists in this book!! I really wasn't ready for them. We finally get some answers to questions from The Reaper Incarnate, but the story isn't over yet and there's still more to come. I can't wait to see what our leading men will do after that ending! I'm so ready to see them burn the world for her.😍

I love a good bad bitch vigilante and Selene is not afraid to get her hands dirty in her mission to take down some bad guys and find her sister.
In The Reaper Incarnate she meets some guys just as fucked up as she is, and Hunting the Reaper picks up after she ran from them to continue her mission on her own.
Like they would let her go that easily. HAHA

Blaze, Zander, Santos, and Darius have claimed my twisted heart.
And I cannot even tell you how much I loved the progression of the relationship between Santos and Darius in this book. If you like sword crossing in your RH this books is for you!
You also get a little FF action in this one because Selene isn’t the type of heroine to care what’s going on between your legs.

There’s also a bit of a stalking element in this book which is quickly becoming a favorite trope of mine.

Hunting the Reaper is the follow up to the novella The Reaper Incarnate, so you have to read the novella first. But if you like dark RH you will not regret jumping into this world head first.

Be warned: This book is a dark so check triggers warnings and it is part of an unfinished series so it does end in a cliffhanger.

Our boys are back and the hunter is now the hunted.

Blaze's anger bleeds off the page in delicious waves. His ability to toe the line between yanking her back and letting her find peace is perfect.

Darius and Santos struggling with their need to have Selene back is heartbreaking soul crushing and all of the feels.

Z is doing his best to keep it all together foe everyone but knows he's on the line as well and misses his hearts counterpart.

Selene may have only been in their arms for a moment but she is tattooed in their soul.

Selene's hunt for answers and maybe even a lead to find her sister has her encountering some interesting people and Blaze isn't impressed with the company she keeps and attempts to remind her who she belongs to in his own way.

Finally everyone had had enough and things get interesting!!!!!!!

The book had me laughing because Selene is just perfection!

The wrecking ball that happens was NOT what I expected and I FLIPPING LOVED IT

This is the second book in the reaped series. This book follows the events in The Reaper Incarnate.

A Dark vigilante RH.

The story follows Selene. She’s a bad ass MFC that uses unique ways at seeking the justice shes after. In the reaper incarnate we meet Zander, Blaze, Santos and Darius. Selene is getting closer to finding her sister and the guys are with her every step of the way (whether she wants them there or not😂). I love all of the guys. Santos had me cracking up most of the time.

In the series we have m/m and f/f scenes 🙌🏻
