Readers of dark romance will enjoy this book from this duo. The first in a new stores, it introduced readers to Charley. She isn’t your run of the mill supernatural and she has no where to run. She isn’t afraid though and her story is complicated. She isn’t one of the good guys, she out for revenge and her story is in the grey area given her methods and way of life..
There so much going on with the story but it revolves around Charley. She plays calculated games that makes her powerful and someone not to mess around with. She brings in Blue and Knox and instantly those two come in to the story only just electrify her power. Charley isn’t one to listen and even when the men offer something special you can see that she is torn. She is consumed by her needs and power. It’s fine balance and she isn’t one to walk away. Blue and Knox aren’t innocent but how much is too much. This book offers an intriguing take on dark romance and I honestly can’t wait to see what Charley gets up to next
not having read anything by the authors before i was pleasantly surprised by how quickly i wizzed through this book making this a really quick read. The book seems fairly short but that doesn't impact the writing there is so much packed within the pages keeping you eager for more and begging to know what happens next.
I was really looking forward to reading this book and have to say that it did not go really well. The book itself needs better editing, some of the characters were flat or confusing and the storyline was a jumble of a mess. It's one thing to not get characters written with accuracy and a whole other mess to get the story screwed up
I just could not get into this book. The main female lead drove me crazy. I get strong independent females, but when they manipulate the people around them to get what they want...it's a major turn off for me. Because I couldn't get behind the female lead, I couldn't get into the story. I'm sure things get better the further into the story you dive, but I couldn't get there myself.
This was a shorter novel than I originally expected to be but that being said, it was a really addictive read and so easy to get lost in! This was a quick and addictive read, and has definitely left me wanting to know more about whats to come!! Fans of reverse harem, will really enjoy this :)
Before I begin my review for Nowhere to Run (Midnight Renegades book 1) by Quirah Casey and Imani L. Hawkins, I would personally like to thank the author and tlknrdy2me.com for the opportunity to read this ARC and I have reviewed it honestly.

Nowhere to Run features, but is not limited to, the following themes: ○ Adult fantasy ○ Paranormal romance ○ Reverse harem ○ Murder mystery ○ Anti-heroes ○ Supernatural beings ○ MPOV
My overall rating for Nowhere to Run is…
4 Stars!
I really, really enjoyed the powerful play on emotions and inner turmoil that this book presented. The story was interesting, the characters intriguing and the romance was smoking hot. I love female characters who flaunt their sexual freedom and demonstrate the beauty of giving and receiving sex without the negativity we see a lot in the real world. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing what the authors will bring us in book 2.
This is a fantastic start to what is sure to be one hell of a series! It’s dark, gritty, very fast paced and filled with all kinds of murder and mayhem.
I must say that Charley is a freaking badass MF but she is also one crazy Bitch (with a capital B). Her story kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation of what the hell was she going to do next. She’s so unpredictable and freaking crazy! Charley is not afraid of getting her hands dirty, tricking others to help her and just being plan old nasty to anyone she doesn’t like. There is a very dark side to her that keeps taking over and bringing her demons closer to the surface. I was routing for her at times and hating her at other times. She really frustrated me, but I know that she’s got some serious issues to work out. Blue and Knox are fantastic secondary characters that hopefully will help bring Charley back into the light and keep her focused on her revenge plans.
This story has a suspenseful and mysterious plotline with lots of twists and turns, keeping us readers guessing on who the real bad guys are. At the end we are left with lots of unanswered questions and a shocking ending that leaves us hanging by a thread.
I need to know how this story is going to unfold. I can’t wait for the next one.
We have Charley who is a stunning character but boy does she bring a mixed bag of feeling towards her. Yes, she is strong and powerful but she has a side to her that is so very dark. This makes her one of those characters you love to hate. I enjoyed her very much at times then there were times I just wanted to smack her and tell her to think. Blue and Knox are absolutely magnificent. They have so much personality that is felt throughout the story. I love that we are seeing the learning curve of the three and their relationship. The edition of the story that I read was well written with some minor edits needed, however, it did not in any form or fashion deter from the story. This story has many twists and turns throughout it that keep you guessing and glued to your seat. These two authors together caused the story to flow extremely well together. The ending does end in a major cliffhanger and oh my goodness I can’t wait to see what is going to happen next. This is most definitely a story that you need to read.
UMMM... Yeah I think both Quirah and Imani seemed to have left me speechless with this book. My emotions were all over the place. One I love that Charley is a tough chick and she is on a mission. However, with the way her moods changed was insane. I also would not want to be on her bad side. Then we have Knox and Blue. These two have a history and are like brothers but not by blood. They are trying to do some good until Charley enters the picture. Blue wants nothing to do with her because he can sense something about her. Knox sees her but not really see her. There is an attraction with them all. I love that this is a bit twisted and crazy. It is a slow burn as well. You also learn a lot about Charley which will explain why she is the way she is. That cliffy you guys left me with is mind blown. I can't wait to see what is going to happen next.

Charley is totally driven by the need for revenge against those who murdered her mother when Charley was little. She has powerful dark magic that is as eager for vengeance as she. Blue is a shifter whose best friends with Knox, a vampire. Charley decides she needs them and sets out to manipulate them into helping her. The relationship between the three turns much more complicated and their concern may actually be the only thing protecting Charley from losing herself to the dark magic. The assassin/stalker character as well as the detective are interesting side characters, as is the ex-boyfriend/crime boss. The only thing keeping me from a five star was that I had trouble sympathizing with Charley’s manipulations of Knox and Blue. I know she is an anti-hero character but I still found her difficult to relate to. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.
I had high hopes for this book. Charley is a badass mage with dark and light magic, one of a kind and feared by all. She's out for revenge, totally vicious and cutthroat. The love interests are a shifter and a vampire that she truly manipulates into helping her quest for revenge. It has a lot of the elements of a story that I like, but some of the characters fell flat.
However, my biggest issue with this book is the treatment of a victim of domestic violence. Domestic violence is not a trigger for me. But the way this victim was describe and treated by the main character was appalling. Two characters describe her as weak. Charley threatens her further and does a lot of victim-blaming. This isn't a plot point or part of a character arc (that I can tell in book 1). It is disappointing and I couldn't get past it.
Nowhere To Run is a great start to this series. Charley is a powerful witch who is out for revenge for those who killed her mother when she was 8.
Knox is a vampire who meets his best friend Blue who is shifter. They going around save animals. One night Charley meets them offers them a job to help her find her mother killers. Knox is on board but Blue not so much but after so events Blue accept. That where we start our adventure. Nowhere To Run has many twists and turns. The authors will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat. To says the characters are great is a understatement. And the ending of Nowhere To Run is so great. Can’t wait to read next book in the series!!!
I received the arc of the book for my honest opinion...
I really wanted to love this book, but the more I read the more disappointed I became. The book has great potential it just feels like it needed more time and editing. The story is interesting enough that you can follow the story even when the dialogue and interaction between character can be confusing at times. Because the author uses her/him and she/him almost at random so it’s a bit confusing who speaks and interact with who, especially the dialogue between Charley and Blue after she pushes into his head. But I’m still curious how the story will continue in book two and how the relationship between Charley, Knox and Blu will develop, also how Charley’s past with Shade will affect it and the story.

Charleys mother was murdered when she was just a child. Nowhere to run follows Charley years later as she seeks her revenge, enlisting the help of a pair of unlikely best friends, Knox a vampire, and Blue a shifter. In an effort to manipulate them in to helping her she forms a bond with both males that threatens to ruin everything she has trained for. Charley is the girl we love to hate, both a mix of Dark and Light magic she is so consumed with getting her revenge she can often appear cold and sometimes mentally unstable. There is a cliffhanger so stay tuned for book 2.
This is a slow/med burn RH written with multiple POV’s. Book 1 is more of a MFM ménage with potentials slowly being introduced.
This is the first book I've ever read by this author and I thought the story line very intriguing, and of course, it leaves you clamoring for more!!
Charley watched her mother get killed when she was a young girl, and she vowed to get revenge. So she has been going on searches for those who were involved. She is a powerful witch with both light and dark Magic, but the dark Magic is trying to consume her.
She invites Blue (Shifter) and Knox (vampire) to help her. Their dynamic is actually pretty hot. The book does leave you with a cliffhanger with the "unknown" character and Charley. I'm curious to see what happens next!
So I received this book for free for a honest review, so charley is on a path to revenge for her mother being murdered for robbery gone wrong but everything she thought she knew was a lie while searching for answers she comes across blue and Knox and together they help each other but charley is different her anger and darkness takes over like flame it involve her to where she has little to no control, the book was alright just not for me usually I Get sucked in after 2 chapters but it was like I had to struggle to stay intrested ,but that is just me it has a good story plot, just to short of a book real quick read .

The story starts out very good with a definite pull to my interest. It gets your heart beating right away. Overall i think it a great storyline and I love the characters alot. I love Knox who is a vampire, Blue who is a shifter and Charley who is the most powerful witch. I enjoyed the building relationship and the possible people who are being introduced..It was great ending and I will read the rest of it as it seems to build alot more towards the end with everyone whos watching her, you dont know quite whats going to happen or who might end up being a possible love interest or someone else..
This is a must read and i cant wait until the next one.
Meet Charley, Knox and Blue three different types of paranormals that end up in a crazy story. Knox and Blue are friends who run into Charley and get sucked into her scheme to get revenge for the death of her mother. The story itself was steamy and Charley was totally crazy. Was interesting and entertaining to read as the revenge ends up being not as straight forward as Charley assumed. Add in some interesting and mysterious secondary characters and plot and got a fun read. Cannot wait to see what happens next and how it all fits together. And it is fun watching Charley be crazy. I loved the twists and multiple romance.
WOW WOW WOW what a cliffhanger. This is only book 1 and we have scratched the surface of Downtown Hell's Point! Charley & her familiar Spanky, Know vampire and Blue Shifter have more to come. She ask or shall I say persuade them to help with her revenge for her mams death.
Slade who is the bad guy of Downtown Hell's Point but I want to learn more about him! He is also helping Charley find he men that killed her. But information comes with a price when it come to Slade. His brother Sion who is a detective both opposites and he is a good guy. I hope we have more Slade🙏
Charles is a witch that is out of control with her need for vengeance. When she was young she saw her mother get killed in a robbery gone wrong. She’s not supposed to exist but her mother was raped and this mixed good with bad and she has a power that is getting out of her control. She has a familiar that is monkey and runs into Blue, an shifter and Knox, a vampire who end up helping her. They help, calm her a little but what will stop her as finds out the one guilty? The story is original and fast paced with a healthy dose of psycho. Charley has one sole focus in life, revenge. The further we get into the story the more we realize something more is going on behind the scenes and that some twists lie ahead in the story. I wish we got to know Blue and Knox a bit better or even Charley I didn’t feel much of a connection with the characters along with feeling some whiplash from Charley’s mood swings. I’ll be keeping good an eye out for the next book.

Charley Miles was born the product of a rape. Her mother was a light witch, her unknown father a dark warlock. She was treated terribly by her entire family but Charley never used her magic to hurt anyone. Until her mother was murdered. Now Charley, as an adult, is out for revenge. She enlists the help of Knox, a vampire, and Blue, a wolf shifter. This short story is perfect for adult lovers of steamy romance but not for those that dislike cliffhangers. Now I can hardly wait for book 2. Highly recommended.

This is book one of two in the Midnight Renegades series by Imani Hawkins. Expect magic, shifters, vampires, and steam in this why choose paranormal romance. This series will feature MFM and FF elements. This type of book is new for me. Charley is not exactly a good girl. Her moods swing dangerously in directions that are unforeseen. She has a driven need to seek revenge for those who murdered her mother. She decides she needs Knox and Blue. She goes about manipulating them into helping her. There is a lot of chemistry there, but is it manipulated, or are their feelings of their own volition?

These authors are both new to me and I definitely will be reading more. They developed their characters well and the storyline is intriguing and suspenseful. All Charley desires is revenge for her mother’s murder and she recruits Blue and Knox to help her. Blue is a wolf shifter that seems to have an affinity for animals emotions. Knox is a newly turned vampire that has a weakness for a pretty face and a banging body. The characters balanced each other out well. Will the need for revenge and the darkness consume Charley?
Charley is a powerful witch who shouldn't have existed. Dark and light powers are never supposed to mix, but as her mother was raped, there wasn't much choice in the matter. When she was a child, Charley was witness to her mother's murder. With her monkey familiar as her only companion, she swore vengeance. She was totally out of control until she met up with Blue (a shiifter) and Knox (a vampire). They seem to exert a small amount of calmness over her, but she is still determined to find those responsible for her mother's death and kill them - slowly.
I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this book as it said it had f/f in. But I did as the storyline is filled with many dark twists as we see the main female character Charley. Also this book actually had no f/f scenes in it but it did have mfm scenes with Knox and Blue a vampire and shifter she asks to help her track down her mother's killers. To then end the book on a slight cliffhanger. A really good book you will want to pick up if you love dark twists.
WOAH that cliffhanger! This was such a legit start to the series and i cannot wait for more! i've read Quirah's work before and really enjoyed her and was looking forward to see what she did with Imani and i wasnt disappointed!
Charley is such a wild character! she's a very powerful witch who uses dark magic to help her get for revenge for the death of her mother when she was younger.
I really liked Knox and Blue! The intimate scenes with her and know and blue were hot af!!
I can’t wait to see how the rest of the books play out!
I'm sorry - the story wasn't bad and I loved how it switched between POV but it needs an editor badly. There's a lot of switching tense and misspellings - like elicit instead of illicit, etc. Those pulled me out of the story so badly I had trouble reading it. I'm sure that's a petty criticism but it really drive me crazy since it seemed like I found an error on almost every page. Otherwise good book and I'd like to read more in the world setting.
Revenge. That is all that Charley desires. To avenge her mother’s death she enlists the help of Blue and Knox, a hacker and a criminal. With Knox, Blue, and her furry friend, Spanky at her side she sets her sights on murder. The characters really worked well together and leveled each other out. The story is full of mystery and twists and turns. One of my favorite parts is the mysterious “unknown” point of view that you get in the story. Can’t wait for the next book!
Charley is a rather unique character. Yes she’s strong and sassy but also rather a little manipulative and apathetic. She’s a powerful witch with revenge on the mind as she recruits Blue and Knox to help her track down her mother’s killers. Nothing is off limits for her in this quest and if she has to use tricks to get help - she’s all for it.
I was intrigued by this book and look forward to seeing how Charley and the guys’ development plays out. As well as how secondary characters -especially the unknown one - will factor in.
