Nikita is an introvert at heart who loves to procrastinate. She spends most of her time reading or watching crimes shows because she hates to leave the house unless it's absolutely necessary.

Her love of Dark Romance really began when she moved to the US and fell in love with reading all over again. She had no plans on ever writing a book or publishing but Cole was very persistent and now she can't think of doing anything else!

She loves writing as much as she loves reading and can't wait to bring you more dark romance reads! The journey so far has been a dream thanks to all her amazing readers and she can't thank them enough for taking a chance on her books and loving those characters as much as she does!

Unfuckingbelievable......

That’s what this was ......I DNF at 42% because I was getting annoyed. At 11% I was ready to head out because it was so tedious to get through. I don’t mind a good lead up but this repetitive shit is not for me. For the first 15% all they did was go clubbing, order takeout and mention how it had no food at home.

I pushed through because I was promised darkness and I wanted it lol. I don’t care how pitch black a book is, if it makes sense then I’ll read it.
This book however, made no sense.

Addison was abused by her parents for MULTIPLE years. Then one day she killed them, created a fake identity and attended college......just like that huh?
On her first day she met this super rich, super nice girl who offers her a free room and solves half of her problems.....at this point you can actually hear my eye rolling in my head.

Her super amazing roommate sleeps with a guy, guy gets killed, guy older brother kidnaps Addi and vows to break her because he thinks she killed his brother.

The torture scenes was so nonsensical it’s not even funny.
eg; the H puts her in a coffin with his dead rotting brother. He opens it for her to run and then shoots her for running....then they walk back to the house like two good friends....then she gives this speech about butterflies and throws herself off a cliff.

I’m sorry but this was stupid. Throwing a bunch of dark shit together for a wow factor does not make a good story. Do you know what strong internal story logic is? I suggest you look it up Nikita!

DNF

I love a dark read, but the plot needs to be believable. This went ridiculously beyond the realistic limits. And I mean it, plausibility zero.

'🆃🅷🅸🆂 🅻🅾🆅🅴 🅷🆄🆁🆃🆂' Is a stand-alone dark mafia romance book intended for mature audiences by author Nikita. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'

Addison and Coles story will rip you to shreds, theirs isn't a conventional romance, basically there's no romance between the two, he's accusing her of an incident which he will oversee that she's put six feet under, the torture he succumbs her to will have your soul screaming for it all to end. She's as strong willed as they come, but he's stronger.

Just when you think all hope is lost with these two the truth brings him to his knees.

I’ve only just recently stumbled across this author, and it’s her series which got me wanting to read all her words.

Before you dive into this, know your limits, it doesn’t skip through the darkness it runs, so if you’ve got triggers this book won’t be for you.

This author went where not many have stepped before, it’s twisted, sick, dark, gritty everything dark readers race towards, but even I must admit I puked inside my mouth a few times.

This needed a good editor, more than a handful of sentences were repeated unnecessarily which took it away from the flow of the storyline and became repetitive after a while, reading her series before this book I know it’s not her writing style so it may be an oversight with it being her debut novel.

Other than those minor hiccups this ticked all my dark boxes and then some.

It’s a hard book to recommend to others only because of the subject matter, but if you like your books on the dark side with a strong feisty female and a handsome devil whose out to kill her and knows no bounds when it comes to teaching her lessons then give this a shot, but definitely heed the trigger warnings they aren’t child’s play.

Really dark people.
rape/incest(dad) from a very young age.dad makes her have sex with other people too. Gets her pregnant, brutally kills her baby.

mum doesn't care about her. Hates her as her husband started to like her daughter, the main girl, from a young age- the fuck.

Girl murders them all- the dad, mum and other rapist, so that's good.

Main guy thinks she killed his brother so he kidnaps her, rapes her, punches her, punches her in the chest causing a heart attack and a coma for a month. Carves 'murder' on her side. Whips her, puts his whole fist in her, gets her addicted to drugs.shows her him killing people, puts her into a coffin with dead body parts.his evidence is a video. He also stated that she is disgusting as he sees a video of her liking sex with her dad- no true.

She then gets out of there and becomes a stripper addicted to drugs.

Main guy sees true video and goes to get her back. She hates him which I like, don't like the whole your handsome so you can hurt me and it's okay.

Girl can not handle it so tries to kill herself by jumping of a balcony- guy saves her so she tries to kill herself via sleeping pills, guys safes her again and then she tries to kill herself via cutting her wrist. Don't get to see them grow. Don't see how they love each other.

Why so much fucking pain??? It's like the author tries to say look at my character she is so strong by having her go through this all and the author uses this to compensate for a one dimension character. The author lists all these things and by doing this, this way she is devaluing the fact that people actually go through this and feel this pain just so her character looks badass.

Liked main girl, well the little you get to know about her. The main boy got better, don't know much about him too. I wanted to see more of him transitioning into a better guy.

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK: THIS LOVE HURTS.

This book will mess with your head in a dark delicious way possible.

Should have heed the warning and prepare me to be messed up by this book...because believe me when I say this, but this book was D.A.R.K... to the core. I mean I am a girl who thrives in this genre, but even for me this was a dark twisted read...and I loved every second of it.
The story takes place at a perfect pace and there were some scenes which will definitely make you take a pause from reading but You will go back to the book..the author really evokes such Curiosity in our mind for what happens next here.
The characters seemed so real, and nothing was sugar-coated in this book.
If you are expecting for Rainbow and hugs, then you are in the wrong place...Because this love is unlike anything and it hurts!
The ending was amazing..I am satisfied but still need to read more and more...
MAJOR BOOK HANGOVER.

I'm not going to touch on the taboo nature of the story because if you read the disclaimer, you can't be surprised about what you're getting into.

In the best light, this reminds me of Natalie Bennett in how the writing style pulls you in and there are sexual taboos. Gratuitous scenes of violence, sex, and violent sex that aren't for erotic purposes but for shock value. The heroine is punched and kicked around she nearly dies at least 3 times in the story but the way that this is told, it's like action movie logic where you punch each other's lights out but in the next scene you're fine. This is a dark romance and while there are lines scattered here and there that suggest the MCs are intrigued by each other, I would say the romance only kicks in about the last 20% of the novel.

The tone is a bit off. The strength of this story is in its debauched storytelling, not in the normcore scenes. In the beginning, we see the heroine lead a normal student life where she parties, has brunch hungover, goes shopping with her roommate, eats takeout and watches movies with her friend. The text messages and their conversations were bland and at the same time hyperreal.

But this is also the case for the hero. When he and his friends discuss how the heroine might be the "one" (deduced because the hero hasn't killed her yet but is still torturing her, yikes), the hero talks exactly like the heroine and her friends in that they both say things like ugh or ew or things like that.

How can a hero who tortures and kills federal agents including using a gun on a female agent's also converse starting with the word, "ugh?" For the abuse that the heroine faces, how does she get over her repulsion of physical intimacy with the hero so quickly?

Well! That was interesting. For a debut novel, it was very readable. I finished it in one sitting.

Where should I start?

The plot got me very intrigued because it seemed dark and mysterious so I was looking forward for this one, and the book started really good actually. Until you get to know the characters. There was just something flat about them and I couldn't connect at all with any of them. It also bothered me a bit how Addison and her friend were constantly talking about how every single guy was some kind of god, I get them, I'm thirsty some days around the year too but what's the point in always talking about it when a different guy always shows up.

Cole. I didn't even like him for a slight second. There's badboys, rich CEOs, the mysterious tattooed guys with a dark past and then there's narcissistic assholes. No need to say Cole belongs to the last one. First chapter with his pov and he's already claiming how every women is drooling just for seeing him blink or stretch a finger, and of course how he gives 0 cares for them because he doesn't have a heart (yeah sure whatever you say). I just couldn't feel the love between Addison and Cole, only the obvious attraction both of them felt for each other as soon as they met.

The book was really dark, with many triggers as well, and I enjoyed the plot a lot but since I couldn't connect or feel anything for these characters unfortunately the book didn't work for me.

ARC provided for an honest review.

This Love Hurts by Nikita is a 5 star dark romance told using dual POV. Chapter 16 is the best thing ever! So well deserved. Love it.

Please pay attention to the trigger warning in the beginning. This book is dark af. It hits on some really traumatic and awful events. Some of it is very taboo. There's so much darkness and gore. I absofreakinglutely love it.

Revenge stories when done right are always my favorites. This is immaculately written with all the chaos and pain drenching the pages. Nikita flawlessly wove this story in such a way that it could be a major hit as a movie... assuming theatres ever make a comeback post covid.

I would love to see this as a series following Addison as she hunts down all the predators who visited her at her parent's home.

Available October 30th. You don't wanna miss this if you are a fan of super dark stories.

Well crap.

This is a debut? I don't believe it.

I wasn't sure what I was getting into. I started reading. It started with a peek, a glimpse. Then the slow crescendo had me guessing... guessing if this is what it really is? not sure if this is going to get better.. or worse?

I wasn't sure. But the concept is there. I wanted to see where it went. I kept going.

And in came the loudest bang. The slap in the face that turn the tides. I was about halfway through before I changed my reading position from laying back and relaxing ... to sitting up straight and concentrating.

Like Pride and Prejudice. But with more blood splattering the walls, broken souls and the anger and hate that resulted from the unimaginable.

Make no mistakes that they were enemies. They remained enemies for almost 90 % of the book.

I don't really read this trope much (enemies to lovers) ... but even I knew this book took the cake in that category.

Took the cake, pushed it into your face to suffocate you with the frosting while trying to waterboard you into feeling emotions that are kept locked away and peeled with the smallest scalpel over a period of years.

This love Hurts.

Poor Addison. How did her spirit last so long?

This has to be the first time ... I really just wanted to throttle the H. Just bash his face in, cut his limbs off ... just MAKE HIM LISTEN.

Listen to the hurt. JUST DANG LISTEN.

The H added to this hurt for so long ... even by the end, I'm not sure if he should have been forgiven.

But love makes us do silly things, doesn't it?

You know what I really rooted for towards the end? for her to kill herself. I really did.

But man, Kudos to the author for .. not just taking a little step into the world of writing...but punching everyone in the face who is close enough and jumping onto a freakin pedestal, looking down on the crowd and shouting to be heard while pointing a gun at all our heads.

I am wavering on how to rate this though. Wavering between a *4.5/5 stars* why? because it was at times... the dialogue Addison spews out. A bit .. juvenile at times? bratty? was she meant to be this way? I don't know. But towards the latter 1/3, I liked her better. She felt more.. real.

<<dark dark/bordering pitch black>> I say bordering...because again.. I think it's Addison's dialogue? just did something to the tone of the book overall. But I'm keeping an open mind because this is the author's debut.

I am excited to see what more this author has in store for us...how her writing will grow, and I'll make sure no one is around when I feel like punching someone.

WOW.
My constant thoughts while reading through these chapters are "THIS IS HER DEBUT BOOK?" I can only imagine how this author's other books will be. This book was SOO good!
I just couldnt stop thinking "wow"
It was so dark, so sexy, so demented! (Some of the stuff Cole put her through, he was ruthless!!!!!)
I really liked Cole alot. I know he did some unimaginable things to Addison but then I think about it and he DID think she killed his twin brother. He wanted to hurt her, yet he was also fighting these sexual feelings he had for her on top of that.
And Addison, poor Addison. She had been through the worst of the worst type of child abuse. Intensely traumatic sexual and physical abuse. For yearssssss. This book really dug deep with those trigger warnings. I mean, alot of authors put them out there in the beginning of the books and people ignore them.
DONT IGNORE THEM IN THIS ONE.
I loved every bit of this story though!!!! TRIGGERS AND ALL!
I was so impressed with how much I loved the story itself.
When I was reading the ENTIRE past chapters starting at chapter 12, I seriously broke. Oh my GOD. I bawled my freaking eyes out during certain parts in chapter 15. I couldnt imagine someone actually going through that. And it breaks my heart that children REALLY do. There really are monsters that get off on treating children like that. Their own flesh and blood. GOD. I am going to be haunted by her screams. Poor Addison. YOU GO NIKITA. EXCELLENT STORY TELLING.
I loved reading the last half of the book and seeing Cole and Addy start to grow alittle more together and not just stay as captive and capture. The sex was hot. The arguing back and forth was hot. The chemistry was hot.
The ending was perfect. I really dont think anything could have been done any different. I love that even though they fell in love they stayed true to who they were and didnt go soft. I cannot wait to read more by this talented new author! Everyone needs to check this out! (If your stomach can handle rape, torture and murder)
Oh yea and WHERE IS MIA? I am now wondering about her and if we will be seeing her book too! I am also going to be reading Ophelia's book Ricochet by LK Reid because I LOVED her. I just really loved these characters! I cannot stop saying how highly impressed I am!!! 5 STARS AND MORE!!!!!

This book is DARK HEED THE TRIGGER WARNINGS!!! I cannot believe this book is this authors DEBUT !!! Addison and Coles story is insanely dark but oh so good it’s filled with pain trauma grief abuse sexual and mental the feelings I’m going through right now I just can’t even I’m left speechless after reading this book ! My heart literally hurts so bad for Addison that girl just couldn’t catch a break ! But I love these kinds of female characters that are resilient and strong and can overcome anything she definitely took her own destiny in her hands and made it her bitch ! Cole he’s deliciously dark and twisted and I think perfect for Addison she needs someone strong enough to help her heal and I think if anyone can help her it’s him ! He’s gorgeous too and that piercing y’all I love a guy with a piercing! I wanted to punch maim and kill so many people in this book thank goodness Addison got her revenge there were some scenes where I was just bawling and some where I felt so violent! And poor Nicco I was so devastated with what happened to him I absolutely adored him ! This book is a definite page turner I could not put this book down till it ended and it took me on such a roller coaster ride of emotions! The steam in this book was hot as well! Hopefully will get a story on Mia and Alexander fingers crossed! Overall a fantastic read definitely five stars from me !

OKkkkkkkkkk… I am Really speechless after reading this one. Like I can’t even blame the author because she did warn us a lot of times that the book was going to be dark , and I should have listened to that warning carefully because I truly feel like I bit off more than I could chew.

“This Love Hurts” is a dark romance novel By the author Nikita. Told in dual perspectives, this book had a darkness that truly shook me to the core. The first thing That I would Like to do is to warn you. If you don’t like reading about a hero who beats his heroine within an Inch of her life , Tortures her using tools , carves things on her skin and rapes her repeatedly , then turn the hell around right now!! There is no chance that you will survive this book!

Cole and Addison’s story is truly not for the faint hearted. Addison has had a tough start to life. “Tough” would actually be an understatement because she never had a home to begin with. Finally when she was able to get some stability in her life , she gets caught in a family rivalry and gets captured by Cole who blames her for murdering his brother. The things he does to her… God. That was too much for me. A little part of me understood his reasons but it was still too much for me. Alright , He tortured her and then broke her so badly that she attempted suicie , what didn’t sit right with me was the way he went back to her. I knew he wanted to fix her , but things are not that easy and his Holier than thou attitude wasn’t helping anyone.

The only reason I am not rating this book very less , is because of the thorough warning the author gave in the starting of the book. I can’t blame her for that because she did try to warn her about this book being very very dark. And I found that the book was written in an exceptional way despite being her debut novel which was another big plus point for me.
If you people are comfortable with the triggers I mentioned above , then go ahead and read this book. Addison and Cole do have their HEA in this book , but the path to that is truly disturbing! This was a true dark read for me , and was an amazing debut novel by this author!

So I assumed this was an author's first book and it makes sense, the writing was very juvenile and I honestly guess that the author is in their teens. With mob bosses saying things like "that good dicking I gave her" and her abusive father saying things like "daddy is going to rock your world" in front of the house and staff before taking her virginity....

A lot of inconsistencies (where are the scars? She would have them all over her body from the torture as a child but they are never mentioned. And the word on her side that no one says anything about when she's a stripper? Why is she always thinking how hot her torturer is, like while in inexplicable pain she checks him out? How does she know obscure names for torture devices at 14? Why would she think someone betrayed her because they forgot GPS was in the truck. I mean, the person was 'killed' trying to escape with her but because dad says she should have known about GPS she assumes that was a set up? How did she start over by herself without any trace at 17? Why does no one fact check anything?)

The scenes of childhood/teenage sexual abuse are... Very graphic but also odd. They read more like a captive/kidnapping sexual assault than childhood trauma.

At one point she is embarrassed she can't just get over this, like weeks later. She has literally been sexually abused as a child, repeatedly tortured for days on end causing physical damage, she's been violently raped by her dad and all his friends, she watched her only friend killed in front of her, she had a horrifying basement abortion performed, she was stabbed and left to die, she murdered her parents and others, then was kidnapped again, left in a coffin with a dead body, thrown in a pit with snakes, watched others tortured and murdered, violently raped again and again, shot, drowned, electrocuted, more torture....

Ya I was not thinking she was weak for a few nightmares right after. I was actually just shocked there was not any real evidence of trauma shown.

The character's voice is the same at 8 as it is at 18. And it's the same as the H's voice too. It read more like a dramatic movie being explained to the reader by a teenager.

However.
The concept/idea is really interesting. There is a lot of potential in storylines from this author. I'll look for her other books and look forward to seeing her growth in her writing.

RELEASING OCTOBER 30TH, 2020

I love reading new authors work and boy did Nikita hit it out of the park. If you would have told me that this was a debut novel I would never have believed you. The author does a great job building up the characters and you can’t help but feel everything these characters are going through deep in your soul.

“I hope you’re ready to meet your worst nightmare, little lamb…”

Addison is such a strong character, that won’t let her spirit break no matter what is thrown her way. Through all the abuse in her life, she still holds her head high and will push through whatever is thrown at her. Question is, has she met her match in Cole? Will he be the one to finally break her?

Cole, alone at the top of his empire, must be the strongest, most powerful leader in his family. What happens when he finds himself in the presence of a girl that will fight for her life and turn all that he believed himself capable of on its head.

This story is such an emotional journey for two characters that fight hard and love harder. This book is the right amount of dark for anyone that loves to dabble in the dark, depraved, and downright emotional. I look forward to seeing where this author takes us next!

**This story is extremely dark and could be triggering to some people.**

Nikita. Debut novel and you hit it out of the park.

How do I review without spoilers? Let me give it a go.

Addison is a survivor and adapt at holding it close to the vest and giving very little away. Cole is bound and determined he will break Addison and get the information he wants.

What happens from the beginning to the end is a whirlwind of pleasure and pain. This is not a love story in a traditional sense. This book has just about every trigger you could have so please be warned and read the warnings.

The journey that Cole and Addison take you on have will have you questioning your own morality and everything you thought you knew about yourself. You will root for Cole and root for Addison independently (at the same time on opposing sides). This is truly a book that will stay with you forever.

This was a dark read. Strong writing.

The h was dealt the worst hand in life and then on top of that when the H gets some bad information and thinks the h killed his brother, he brings her so much more pain. To the point that he kills her (before his drs bring her back to life). He mistreats her and hurts her and scars her and gets her addicted to drugs before learning the truth and tries to make ammends. I say try because I'm not really sure after all he did to her, that ammends could ever be made - the author made it happen but I'm nowhere near convinced that she should have forgiven him.

They have their HEA but as a reader - it was far too little too late.

This is one of the worst books I’ve ever read. After about halfway through I did a lot of skimming. You can skip many pages of pure drivel just to get to next point. The second half you get many back to back chapters of the exact same scene told from the girl’s POV and then the guy’s POV. A lot of repetition within one scene as well. Cole has no redeeming qualities. There’s no chemistry except the author insisting upon it. Most of the book has no real logic, you have to be told things just are the way they are. I’m shocked at the high rating.

Also, Addison Montgomery is the name of a Grey’s Anatomy character. Makes your character extra lame.

Looks like I started reading this book a long time ago, stopped and I decided to finish it at the end of the year. Wow...there was so much abuse and violence in this book, which is probably why I put it down and never came back to it. This was the brutal story of Addison, which starts with her horrible homelife with despicable parents, who abused her. Actually abuse is too mild of a word for what she went through. When she became of age, she tried to start a new life for herself but then gets involved in situation with a 'Mafia' family member. Addison finds herself in a revenge/vendetta plot with our anti-hero/villain, Cole, and she goes through h*ll. Some of the things that happened had me cringing as some of my own fears were on these pages and freaked me out! Really strong and graphic writing, which I loved...I was freaked out, but had to give the Author props for making everything so vivid. Loved the Epilogue where we were treated to a good look into the future. Bravo!

Why Not 5 Stars?
Blacking out -It seemed like at the end of most chapters, Addison blacked out. Not very original.

Repeating Point of Views - One of my pet peeves, is repeating the scene, including the dialogue, from each character's POV. While I'm OK with a quick summary on what the alternating character was thinking, but who needs or wants to read repeated dialogue. The book did not start out this way, but in the later chapters, the repeating POV started. It does not add value it simply increases the page count of the book.

Cole - I was disappointed that Cole softened to the point where he allowed Addison to do the thing at the end. I think it just took his bad-ass-ness down. While I needed to see his soft side and understanding of what Addison had been through, that whole scene was unbelievable and did not fit his character.

I'll say right off the bat that I probably would have rated the book a bit lower had it not been the author's debut. I am very impressed at how well written it is for a debut. Additionally, props to Nikita for writing a truly dark romance that lived up to its trigger warnings. Take those seriously! This is not the book for sensitive readers! As a huge lover of everything dark, I certainly appreciated that This Love Hurts didn't just fade into grey, but stayed true to its darkness throughout.

There were quite a few things that worked and some that didn't. The writing, despite some minor issues with tenses, was on point, especially for a new author. The plot was clearly well thought out and brought full circle without leaving open issues. As mentioned earlier, the darkness was quite shocking and the author held nothing back. The story gripped me and I was there for it the entire time.

Now, for things that didn't work as well for me. First of all, I felt that the first part that detailed daily minutia of Addison's life with Mia dragged too long. The characters of Addison and Cole just felt a bit off to me. There was something preventing me from fully connecting with either. Normally, I would be all in for a broken but strong heroine and an almost irredeemable villain. But I just could fully get on board. Addison confused me with all her swooning over Cole's hotness given the situation. I had a hard time buying into Cole's abrupt change of heart - "maybe I'll just keep my brother's murderer instead of getting revenge".
Some of the medical details weren't really possible, so a bit more research might have gone into making those parts more believable.

This last thing is just a point of personal preference and most would probably disagree with me, but, given the tone and content of the story, I would have almost preferred for it to end before the Epilogue. But I understand the need for an HEA, especially after all the trauma.

Despite any misgivings, overall, This Love Hurts is definitely worth checking out for any fan of TRUY DARK romance. Nikita is a new author to watch and I can't wait to see what she does next!

Diving into this book, I really had no idea what to expect. I love dark romance, but TLH is a completely new level of dark and I really enjoyed it. ⁣

Addison had a tough life. From her childhood to this moment where she meets Cole and gets thrown into his world, she definitely didn’t have it easy. But she’s a fighter. She takes it all and pushes through, because the only person she has is herself. ⁣
But can she do it forever? Will she break one day? ⁣

Cole, oh Cole. I called dibs when I saw those teasers and I wasn’t disappointed. He’s vicious to his enemies, but he is kind to his family and those he loves. And he does, he shows love. Addison brings something different in him, and it was truly amazing watching these two broken characters coming together and healing each other. ⁣

This is a debut book by Nikita and I can’t wait to see where will she take us in her upcoming books. ⁣

This book is dark, really really dark. If you don’t mind scenes of rape, murder, drug abuse, mental abuse, then I would definitely suggest you to read it. ⁣

High intensity, fast paced and dark ...
I am well aware the book is classed as very dark romance so I won't judge on what all the H does and what all the h has suffered ... I judge on whether the author did justice to the track she took ...
Yes, to some extent she did do justice ... h is someone I rooted for and at the end, I believed in the choice she made to be with the H ... in the sense that after all she went through, let the girl choose what she wants and be happy the h is happy ...
However, I believe the H's character was too dark and he did things that are no, no for me ... the author took him to a point where I as the reader, feel is no coming back from, Also, H comes across as this so-called bad guy but he is remarkably clueless about everything ...
So I don't buy the HEA
However, impressive effort from the author
